We had a great time (as always) at !

It was so good to see familiar faces, meet new ones, and see business owners and organizations from across Camden County showing up for each other. We heard from the incredible mix of local businesses and nonprofits that make this community what it is: from SBA lending and real estate to pest control, performing arts, PTO fundraisers, senior living, and everything in between.

We were proud to this month’s gathering, and Adam shared a few quick tips on budgeting as businesses head into Q4 and start planning for 2027.

But honestly, the best part was being reminded why we enjoy being part of the Camden County business community. So many people are doing good work, supporting local organizations, raising money for local causes, and finding ways to help each other grow.

Most people think you'd know if you got hacked. Flashing warnings, locked computers, something obvious.

It doesn't usually work that way anymore.

ExtraHop's 2026 threat report found that 49% of ransomware victims didn't realize anything was wrong until after their data had already been stolen. On average, attackers had been quietly inside the network for about two and a half weeks before anyone noticed.
They're not breaking things while they're in there. They're using real accounts and normal-looking activity, so to the computer it just looks like an employee doing their job. That's the whole point.

This is why good security isn't only about blocking viruses. It's about noticing when something doesn't fit. An account downloading thousands of files it's never opened. Someone logging in at odd hours. A user suddenly in systems they've never needed before.

Catching that early is the difference between a scare and a shutdown.

"Can I just ask AI if something is a scam?"

We're hearing that one a lot lately, and the honest answer: be careful. AI is great at explaining things, but with security, almost right is still wrong.

Criminals use AI now too, which is why the old giveaways like bad spelling and clumsy wording have mostly disappeared.

But please still trust your gut. If an email says your account is about to close, or a vendor suddenly wants you to send payment somewhere new, verify it yourself. Call a number you already have on file, not the one in the email.
