Last night’s trash find!
I always wanted a “Darth Vader” Macbook đŸ„č

Macbook 2008, Core2Duo 2.4, already put in a fresh new hard drive and expanded it to 4GB RAM, ready to install Lion.

A little bit banged up with some plastic chipping (as it is common with these models) but all round in pretty good condition

Me pongo las pilas para poner contenido de mi viaje a JapĂłn de Julio. (Gringos hit “translate” for đŸ‡ŹđŸ‡§đŸ€š)

📍 Hard Off & Hobby Off Ueno Okachimachi Store ăƒăƒŒăƒ‰ă‚Șăƒ•ăƒ»ăƒ›ăƒ“ăƒŒă‚Șăƒ•äžŠé‡ŽćŸĄćŸ’ç”șćș—
📍〒110-0005 東äșŹéƒœć°æ±ćŒșäžŠé‡ŽïŒ”äžç›źïŒ–âˆ’6
Al toque de la estaciĂłn Okachimachi de la lĂnea Yamanote.

It’s about time I start posting some stuff from my recent trip to Japan. I’ve been a bit social media averse since I returned but let’s turn that around a bit.

Random tech/game related photos here but soon I’ll post about the stuff I crawled through, found and bought over there. Stay tuned.

24 years ago today, I was at .ar 2k1. Great memories!
Here’s s a pic of me talking to the legend Ana María, an old lady who absolutely loved digital art and would attend every FP back then and talk with everyone, some random party shots and a pic of the Mindprobe liveset (gotta live a big ass CRT on stage 😂).

Not sure who took these pics but it wasn’t me, so credit to them.

A companion for my Gateway PII-450!
Rescued this Gateway PIII-550 machine in my neighborhood, after a lot of TLC and ten attempts at a Windows installation, it’s up and running right next to its sibling.

- 56k modem card
- Replaced poopy DVD-ROM with working 52x CD-RW drive
- 3 1/2” floppy drive

I’m a proud “cyber ciruja”, so I pick up s**t from the streets often. When a box of computer books from the late 90s crosses my path, I have to rummage through that s**t!

I grabbed two books from this pile, the second one had a CD-ROM still attached to it which I can happily report was undamaged and is now available for everyone at the Internet Archive. You can find my uploads in the link in my bio, I have a lot of stuff to upload but haven’t yet found the time. Eventually I’ll archive it all.

New acquisition: Suncom iController (PC serial version)

if you haven’t figured it out already, I am a bit of an input device fanatic 😅 I wanted one of these since I first caught glimpse of the C64 version in an ad in Compute!’s Gazzette, back in the late 80s.

I literally had been eyeing this particular unit on eBay for years, until it went down to a reasonable price. I am glad to report that it works although the driver disk wasn’t as lucky. Not only the spindle had detached from the media, after fixing it with some delicate double sided tape work (stick glue wouldn’t work), it turned out the disk was full of errors I was unable to get rid of even after several cleaning sessions 😔 bit of a shame since it seems this disk is nowhere to be seen online and I was really looking forward to archiving it.

The device itself isn’t bad, and it’s marginally better than using my Libretto’s built-in navpoint. This is a great addition to my weird Suncom collection.
