Ode to Packaging Art & Design

Ode to Packaging Art & Design Everything involves packaging! Much of our "food" is elaborately packaged. Even people are packaged in clothes, cars, etc. So... I never gave up on Miracles.

Be aware of packaging & enjoy! ~~ Hoping to open eyes to the beauty of ordinary packaged objects This page now involves my personal fascination with packaging design and its influence on behavior. ~~ Welcome and feel free to share interesting packaging you see along the way! ~ Sarah Becker

eting and packaging design are closely connected of course. Be aware of packaging & enjoy it's endless varieties! old page info:
There are amazing things all around us all the time, call them Miracles if you like! Background: From 1995 - 2010 I owned a print shop & graphic design studio that helped over a thousand small and medium sized business, non-profits and individuals with their marketing and day-to-day paperwork and forms, it was called Miracle Graphics & Marketing. It was a continuation of a commercial printing and office supply company founded in 1976 under a different name. For those 15 years, many customers would come in saying "I need a Miracle!" or "Do you sell Miracles here? " and in time it felt like we attracted miracles of all kinds. There were many adventures, good and not so good, in that quirky little storefront. I miss the human interaction, the regulars that came in with their unrealistic marketing plans, randomly overly done to juvenile graphic design, interesting business ideas, occasionally a normal request just for copies... all the creativity and optimism that comes with a free market based society. In the end, much of that human interaction, all those budding ideas and advice and buying from each other and laughter were replaced by... people ordering their business forms and cards ONLINE... some also seized the means of production and started buying increasingly cheaper color printers for their homes & offices... With a sad heart, I sold my company along with most of the manufacturing equipment and the newly constructed, 2-level, 24 ft ceiling industrial condo I had designed, purchased as new construction and cheerfully decorated. It has a different name now, but it's still there with a new owner. I still find them all over, in the least expected places. Sorry that at the moment you can't just walk into a store and try to buy one, but I'm here online, still ready to give out advice and encouragement. Running a small business is not easy; when you need a Miracle send me a message. You never know.

This is a shockingly crude use of type. Heavens! (Pun intended)... Designers Do a Double Take at the Lettering on Pope Francis’ Tombstone

Irregularly spaced letters spelling “F R A NCISC VS” have caused a stir among typography nerds who specialize in spacing and fonts. One called them “an abomination unto design.”

Give me lazy love.
I used to fantasize over grand gestures
and wild adventures.
But the vast majority of our days together
will be far simpler.
Not spent sky diving and jet-setting.
There’s nothing I enjoy more than slow, dawdling days spent in bed together,
laughing, eating, making love in between episodes of some show we’re hardly watching.

You’re my universe.
Stunning without trying.
You nestle further, sink deeper into me,
as if you can’t get close enough.
But I feel you in my bones.
In my soul already.
I feel your smile against my chest,
and another little piece of me is made whole.

I love knowing that you know
you are safe with me.
That’s not something either of us has had much of in the past.
We breathe each other in,
and our spirits exhale – finally, we’re at peace. Doing nothing whatsoever with you
is my favorite thing to do.
You make the mundane feel magical. Whatever extravagant dreams I once had for myself have been replaced by ones where you’re at the center of.
A warm home filled with music, dancing, and all the things we love.
I crave time together, making you smile,
and showing you how much you are appreciated.
I no longer crave the grandiose because with the right person, your person,
all you need is their company
for life to feel adventurous.
We make fire from just the energy between us and the little corner of the world we share
fills with purpose.
