I view part of my job as saving our clients from spending their money incorrectly. I had a client call to get a quote for a memory upgrade. In looking more deeply into her computer, I determined that her hard drive disk (hdd) was her bottleneck (it's at 100% speed with "nothing" running). Her processor is from 2017 so I looked into whether or not it could run Windows 11. It cannot. So, I called her back and we had a conversation.

Memory and SSD prices are . . . DUMB right now. Part of it is tariffs and part of it is AI. So, she would have been most of the way to a new computer ($1100 for parts, labor, and taxes vs $1200 [for just the computer]). Turns out, she wanted to do the upgrade so the computer wouldn't be replaced until she can come back to the state (she's been injured so she doesn't want to travel yet). She's hoping to be back within a month or two. I told her I CAN do the work she's requested but I would recommend against it. She finally agreed my argument made sense (not right away).

But, THIS is why our clients keep coming back. It would have been SO easy to do the job she requested and then sell her a computer when she came back. But, that's not who we are.

Clearly, we're doing it wrong /s. We have a 14 day return policy from the date of delivery to the client. AND, if our customers have an issue with their computer that the manufacturer's warranty would cover, WE deal with the manufacturer for them FOR FREE. Of course, we sell/recommend GOOD equipment so it rarely comes up anyway (in 16 years of business, I think I can count on one hand the number of times we've had to repair a computer we sold [or had to send to the manufacturer for repair] due to a warranty issue).

Since people have been asking: Windows 10 loses its support in October 2025. We expect there to be a rush as that date approaches so replacing (or upgrading, if applicable) your current Windows 10 machines to Windows 11 is recommended sooner than later.

We also expect prices to rise dramatically in the next month or so for unrelated reasons. So, we recommend making your tech purchases as soon as possible.

THIS is why we always say, "Always go to a website manually even if you think the email is legit." He's talking about a Google account but it would work on many other systems as well.

I just wanted to let you know that we're going on a mini vacation to a place with no cell service. We'll be leaving this afternoon and returning Monday night, reopening for normal hours on Tuesday. If you need immediate assistance while we're away, please call our alliance members who will be covering for us. In case they accidentally bill you, please do not pay them. Some of them charge higher rates than we do so they've all agreed to bill us and we will bill you at our normal rates. We have been working with each of them for several years and trust each of them to do a good job. If you do reach out to them, please give us feedback (good, bad, and indifferent). We want to make sure we maintain a coverage list that's consistent with our own standards. Thank you!
