September’s theme, Cinematic, challenged photographers to create an image that felt like it belonged on the big screen. From dramatic lighting and carefully composed scenes to quiet moments filled with mood and story, we loved seeing how everyone brought a cinematic feel to their photography. 🎬📸

October Theme: Spooky, Strange & Unusual

This month, we’re embracing everything eerie, mysterious, bizarre, unexpected, and just a little bit strange.

Look for the things that make you stop and take a second look. A shadow that doesn’t quite look right. An abandoned building. A foggy landscape. An unusual portrait. A strange reflection. Something hiding in the darkness. Or an everyday scene photographed in a way that suddenly feels a little... off.
Your interpretation is completely up to you! Your photo can be spooky, creepy, mysterious, surreal, weird, whimsical, or simply unusual.

All photography styles are welcome, whether you shoot film or digital.

Creative Focus: Atmosphere & Perspective
Think about how lighting, shadows, angles, reflections, color, and composition can change the way we see an ordinary scene. Can you make something familiar feel mysterious, unsettling, or unusual?

👻 Bonus Challenge: Something Lurking
Include something in your photograph that isn’t immediately noticeable—a figure in the shadows, a face in a reflection, an unexpected detail, or something hiding in plain sight. Give us a reason to look twice!
