Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service provides programs, tools & resources that teach people how to improve agriculture & food production, advance health practices, protect the environment, strengthen our communities & enrich youth. What is 4-H All About?

4-H IS MORE THAN JUST A CLUB! 4-H is a community of young people across America who are learning leadership, citizenship and life skills. 4-H

is about having fun, learning, exploring and discovering. More than 65,000 Texas youth are enrolled members of 4-H community clubs in Texas. Another 850,000 Texas youth get involved in 4-H through special educational opportunities at school, in after school programs, or at neighborhood or youth centers. These youth live in cities, suburbs, small towns and rural communities.

4-H gives them a chance to pursue their own interests – from photography to computers, from building rockets to raising sheep. They go places – to camp, to state and national conferences and they learn to be leaders and active citizens. In 4-H clubs, they serve as officers and learn to conduct meetings, handle club funds, and facilitate group decision-making. In a growing number of communities, 4-H youth serve as youth representatives in municipal or county government or as members of Teen Courts. They give back to their communities. 4-H members get involved in volunteer projects to protect the environment, mentor younger children and help people who are less fortunate.

🍀 Last week our wonderful 26-27 County Council Officers hosted the County Wide Meeting & Club Officer Installation Ceremony! 🍀

4-H families came out and met the various club managers that are vital to our 4-H success, and learned about the project area opportunities offered within the 4-H program in Washington County at the The Washington County Expo ! We also recognized the incoming Club Officers across the county and installed them into their elected positions. Thank you to all who made this program a success! Attn: electrical work is being done at the expo tomorrow, September 2, 2026 and we may be in need of a generator that can run our polar ice box during the time the power is down at our 4-H concession stand! Washington County 4-H members, join us tomorrow as we deliver 50 Soda Cake Boxes to the Brenham Pregnancy Center! This is a great opportunity to give back to our community and show your 4-H spirit.

🎉 A HUGE shoutout again to all of our amazing volunteers who helped make our Soda Cake Boxes! 🎉

Thanks to your hard work and generosity, we already have three local organizations that have agreed to help distribute these boxes to families who may not otherwise have the opportunity to celebrate with a birthday cake. ❤️🎂

Now we need your help with the next step!

🚗 Help Deliver Soda Cake Boxes & Spread Some Cheer!

Volunteers will meet at each organization, help deliver the boxes, and take a group photo with the organization. This is a great opportunity to see the impact of your service and help bring a little extra joy to local families.

We’re getting closer to our goal of spreading a little sweetness and support throughout our community. ❤️
