Think it’s harmless?

Here’s what your Claude Code agent might try when you’re not looking:

🧨 Run `rm -rf /` and delete your whole project
🔓 Access your API keys and environment files
🎯 Fire off expensive commands without approval
📡 Call tools silently with no logs or visibility

This isn’t paranoia—it’s reality for engineers using agents daily.

Here’s the fix:

Claude Code Hooks
Small scripts that give you full control over every agent decision.

You decide what runs, when it runs, and what gets logged.

With 5 event triggers, you can plug into:

🛑 Pre-Tool Use – block dangerous commands (like rm -rf)
📤 Post-Tool Use – log every executed task
🔔 Notification – get alerts when Claude needs your input
✅ Stop – capture full transcripts after completions
🧱 Sub-Agent Stop – monitor background agents finishing work

I use them with Astral’s `uv` runner—single-file Python scripts that isolate logic.
