The theme for Day 16 of Linktober 2026 is "Fairy", so our friend Ryan Laney of Airship Overdrive suggested Navi's intro from Ocarina of Time, "Fairy Flying", would be well suited to a woodwinds cover for today! Pretty straightforward arrangement but it is fun to hear on all flutes for sure. The low flute part in the first section is also actually too low to be physically played on a flute (as it's written for cello), so Nicole played as low as she could and then we pitched it down an octave so that was a neat trick.
Hope you're excited for the OoT remake and that this footage of our cats' terrible laser hunting skills tides you over in the meantime.

This is a bit sloppier than I would've liked since we put together the arrangement last night and I had to quickly learn and record the part before work today, but if you ignore the few slipped notes I think it's a decent Spirit Tracks tribute! I wish the game was better, but will still always highlight its unique charm and I love playing this new acoustic guitar. Byrne is super cool and anyone who thinks otherwise can fight us.

Since I threw together the first version of this costume for Halloween 2.5 years ago I've worn it at least a half dozen times I love Luffy so much. Especially fun that we share a birthday.
