Turns out the extra hours were the problem, not the effort.
I was the โalwaysโonโ type:
answering emails at midnight, grinding on a single client for days, and convincing myself that more time meant more results.
The calendar was a mess of overlapping meetings, and my coffee intake hit record highs.
Then I tried a 15โminute โbatchโ session:
grouping similar tasks and setting a timer, followed by a strict twoโminute rule for anything that could be done in under that time.
The chaos cleared, and I actually finished projects early without pulling an allโnight shift.
Hereโs what works:
- Group emails, calls, or edits into 30โminute blocks.
- Use the twoโminute rule:
if itโs quick, do it now; otherwise schedule it.
- End each day with a 5โminute review to lock in tomorrowโs priorities.
