UNKNOWN STORIES: IMMIGRANT VOICES OF CHELSEA

Every life has a story worth telling.

Unknown Stories is a community-based art and storytelling project celebrating the humanity, cultural identities, and resilience of Chelsea’s immigrant communities.

Through portraiture, personal narratives, and cultural symbolism, we brought the voices of Chelsea residents into a shared space where their stories could be seen, heard, and celebrated.

My hope is that this project reminds us that no two lives are alike, yet every story has the power to connect us. When we embrace our differences and take the time to listen, we discover the beauty of our shared humanity.

Seeing the community come together to celebrate these stories was more meaningful than I could have imagined. ❤️

Created in collaboration with MassArt Professor Jeanette Luise Eberhardy and artists and writers Sierra Rodrigues sierra , Mia Davila Mia Davila, Ammy Gonzalez Ammy Gonzalez , and Adrian Nguyen adrian.

My heart is so full. ❤️

I’m still trying to find the words to describe Wednesday night.

I knew Unknown Stories: Immigrant Voices of Chelsea was going to be a special evening, but I never imagined it would turn into something so extraordinary. I was completely overwhelmed—in the most beautiful way—by the love, the turnout, and the emotions we shared.

Seeing so many people come together, watching families recognize their loved ones in the artwork, and witnessing our community connect through these stories reminded me why I do what I do.

But what has touched me even more are the beautiful messages I’ve received since the opening. One son thanked me for honoring his mother and shared that he knew she felt loved. Others spoke about how deeply moved they were by hearing the stories of Chelsea residents.

Those words mean more to me than I can express.

To everyone who trusted us with their stories, to the incredible MassArt artists Mia Davila sierra adrian Ammy Gonzalez and Professor Jeanette Luise Eberhardy, to the Chelsea Cultural Council for supporting this vision, and to every single person who showed up: thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I have always believed that every life carries a story worth telling. Wednesday night reminded me just how powerful it can be when we take the time to listen.

I’m still processing it all, but one thing I know for sure: this is just the beginning. ❤️

Tengo el corazón lleno. ❤️

I’m incredibly grateful to have been selected as a recipient of the Celebrate Heritage Grant by Chelsea Cultural Council, giving me the opportunity to create Unknown Stories, Immigrant Voices of Chelsea.

Chelsea is a city of resilience. Behind its streets, homes, businesses, and neighborhoods are people carrying stories of courage, sacrifice, culture, family, dreams, and hope—stories worth sharing, yet too often left unseen and untold.

Through Unknown Stories, I had the privilege of listening to members of the Chelsea community and translating pieces of their lives into portraiture, visual symbolism, and storytelling.

What makes this project even more meaningful is that I didn’t do it alone. I was fortunate to collaborate with MassArt Professor Jeanette Luise Eberhardy and an incredible group of MassArt alumni and student artists: Mia Davila, Sierra Rodrigues, Adrian Nguyen, and Ammy Gonzalez Ammy Gonzalez . Together, we listened, learned, and worked to honor each person’s story with dignity and respect.

This exhibition is about more than portraits. It is about the people who make Chelsea what it is.

Here’s a little glimpse of what we’ve been creating.

I hope you’ll join us as we finally share their stories.

Through portraiture, personal narratives, and cultural symbolism, the exhibition brings to life the stories of Chelsea community members who contribute to and serve their families, neighbors, and community every day.

This project was created in collaboration with MassArt Professor Jeanette Luise Eberhardy, MassArt alumni Mia Davila, Amy Gonzalez, and Sierra Rodrigues, and current MassArt student Adrian Nyugen.

Unknown Stories was made possible in part through Chelsea Heritage Grant from the Chelsea Cultural Council.

There’s something special about working with people who genuinely care.

When passion, dedication, and shared values come together, the energy in the room becomes contagious. It’s the kind of environment where creativity flows, everyone gives their best, and you leave feeling inspired.

A little behind the scenes from our recent video and photoshoot for our client Estate Cleaners Grateful for a team that shows up with excellence, supports one another, and believes that the best work is created together.

This is the part people don’t always see—but it’s what makes the final result possible. 🎥✨

Design is culture.

Last night, I had the opportunity to attend the Design Is Culture event hosted by at the , featuring the legendary .

While his work, typography, and approach to design were inspiring, one of the lessons that stayed with me most wasn’t about design at all.

Rick shared how he stepped away from graphic design after experiencing the loss of a loved one. It was a powerful reminder that behind every portfolio, project, deadline, and award is a human being.

As designers and creative directors, we can become so focused on creating the next great piece of work that we forget to simply be people. Sometimes it’s okay to pause. It’s okay to grieve. It’s okay to heal. It’s okay to not be a designer for a day.

Design will still be there when we return.

I left with fresh inspiration, renewed curiosity, and a deeper appreciation for the role design plays in shaping culture—and for the importance of protecting our own humanity along the way.

Thank you to AIGA Boston, ICA Boston, and Rick Griffith for an evening of thoughtful conversation and inspiration.

Incredibly proud to have been born on the beautiful island of Puerto Rico. 🇵🇷

Every time I return home, I come back stronger, more inspired, and even more grateful. Proud of where I come from, proud of everything I have accomplished, and proud to stand alongside so many powerful women who continue to lead with strength, resilience, and heart.

Puerto Rico has a special gift—it raises strong women. Women who dream, create, persevere, and uplift others. I carry that gift with me wherever I go.

Thank you, God, for creating this paradise, a little piece of heaven on Earth. No matter where life takes me, Puerto Rico will always be my home, my inspiration, and part of who I am. ❤️✨
