We are proud to present the new visual identity for Monarch Dentistry. 🦋

Founded by Dr. Elana Celliers, DMD, Owner and Head Dentist at the practice, along with a strong, knowledgable staff looking to clean the stigma and bias most dental clinics deal with:

"We are a team of women that want to change the way you think about dental care."

Started in 2022, they set out on a mission to redefine what going to the dentist is like for people of all ages and prior experiences. It doesn't have to be a scary, painful process. Exact opposite, as they put it.

When designing the identity with Dr. Elana, we stuck to our process of digging deep, getting to know her story and how she got to where she is. A lot of it starts with family. In particular, with her mom.

"The name of the practice is a tribute to my mother. She passed away when I was 17, but she gave me the strength and resilience to become a dentist. We shared a love of butterflies — creatures which are both amazingly engineered as well as beautiful."

Powerful. Inspiring. Transformative.

The design reflects this simple truth, and strong silhouette. We wanted to achieve something that quickly tells the story of Dr. Elana, her attention to detail, commanding leadership, and elegant approach to her relationships with those around her. The color palette was straightforward being that Monarch Butterflies are orange, and the complementary blue fits perfectly. But it's also a nod to where Dr. Elana performed her studies, at Syracuse University When we asked how important it was to keep that consistent, her response? "Very."

We're with you, Dr. Elana.

We invite you to visit her website at www.monarchdentistryct.com. If you happen to be in the Hamden, Connecticut area, or nearby, definitely consider her if you are looking for better dentistry.

"At Monarch, you come for the bright smiles, but leave with a brighter experience."

FitBeat needed a minimal, scalable identity—one that embodies strength, resilience, and whole-body wellness beyond just physical performance.

The brand’s spirit is that of champions—trailblazers who push limits, build community, and "march to the beat of their own drum."

Concepts Explored:
F cut from B – A dynamic mark with depth through negative space.
Chiseled Monogram – F and B skewed forward, signaling movement.
The Anvil (Finalist) – A strong, balanced fusion of F and B, forged for power.
Sledgehammer – Simple, bold shapes embodying toughness.
Tire-Tread Heart – Strength and endurance in an abstract form.
Celtic Cross – A hidden heart within a powerful cross motif.
Fist Monogram – A modern take on grit and force.
Drum & Tire-Tread F – A fusion of rhythm, impact, and completeness.
Through extensive exploration, the Anvil Monogram (Concept 3) emerged as the winner—a symbol of unbreakable strength and the next evolution of FitBeat.

Stay tuned for the final identity reveal.

A fun open-source tool that turns your logos into liquid metal:

liquid.paper.design

Give it a try!

When we think about the Formal Elements, materials—especially metals—naturally come to mind, which is why we’re drawn to this chrome effect. But what truly captivates us about 's liquid tool is its precise control over dispersion.

Our brand colors, black and white, are intentional. They represent the ultimate contrast—the purest form of balance in existence. In the language of Light and Darkness, white expands into the full spectrum of color, embodying possibility and potential. Black, the void, is the negative space—the unseen structure, the dark matter that gives everything its place and purpose.

Now we just need an official theme song to put this all too...

When you ask Diane, who goes by Di, the owner and photographer of Dimensionl® Photography, what direction she takes her work, this is her response.

To her, she sees the world, and all of the complexity in it, with a different lens.

"I like to focus on things that don't get a lot of appreciation in the world. I like to give them new meaning."

At Formal Elements, we couldn't agree more.
