⚠️ No hunting birds on a wire! Shooting at doves resting on power lines puts more than birds at risk. The fiber optic cable running along those lines keeps high-speed internet and critical services, like 911 service, running for the whole area, and even a small-gauge shot can cause damage that's costly and slow to repair. 📞💰 A little extra awareness of where you're aiming protects your neighbors' connection and keeps hunting season safe for everyone. 🏥

🚨 Dove hunters, take note before you aim at birds perched on power lines. Attached to many of those same poles are fiber optic lines that deliver internet, phone, and emergency communication service to homes and businesses across the community. A stray birdshot pellet can nick or sever those lines, cutting off service for neighbors who depend on it. Choose a safer line of sight this season and keep our information flowing.

Last night’s storm brought strong winds and severe weather through the area, leaving significant damage behind. Our crew headed out early this morning to help North Central Electric Cooperative as they work to restore power to their members.

❄️ Here are some tips to help manage your energy costs going forward:

•Schedule regular AC maintenance to keep your system running efficiently.
•Consider upgrading to a programmable or smart thermostat for better temperature control (bumping it up a few degrees can ease the workload on your system).
•Seal air leaks around windows and doors to keep cool air from escaping.
•Check that your outdoor AC unit is clear of debris, vegetation, and obstructions for proper airflow.

⚠️ Prentiss Connect Outage

We are currently experiencing a fiber outage affecting customers on CR 5031, CR 5131, and surrounding areas.

Approximately 150 internet customers will be without internet service for an estimated 6–8 hours while our crews work to repair a fiber cable damaged by the storm.
