Windwave donates $6,000 to support Boardman Food Pantry Rebuilding Efforts
BOARDMAN, Ore. — During a fundraising dinner and auction held on September 4, 2025, the Windwave generously contributed $6,000 to support the rebuilding of the Boardman Food Pantry. These contributions will aid rebuilding efforts after a devastating fire destroyed the pantry in July.
The event, hosted by community friends, brought neighbors, local businesses, and supporters together to raise critical funds to restore this vital resource. The Boardman Food Pantry provides essential food and assistance to hundreds of households each month.
“We are deeply grateful for Windwave and their leadership and generosity,” said Mary Killion, Boardman Pantry Board Chairman. This contribution is a huge step forward in helping us get back on our feet and continue serving families in need.”
The Pantry is operating from a temporary location in conjunction with Community Counseling Solutions at 361 NW Turner Ct., Boardman, and is open Mondays, 9:30–11:00 AM, and Thursdays, 6:00–7:00 PM.

Windwave is excited to announce that our CEO, Blake Lawrence of Windwave Communications, won the Edwin B. Parker Enduring Achievement Award at the 2024 Oregon Connections Conference.

We couldn’t think of someone who better embodies the principles of this award. This award is presented to individuals “whose contributions in telecommunications have been rendered with the greatest civility, who serve as a role model and mentor to many, and who have provided a lasting legacy influencing for years to come the course and future of telecommunications in Oregon.”

At the Sunriver Resort, Joe Franell and Adam Haas presented the award and read statements of support from customers, employees, and contractors.

“Blake’s dedication to improving broadband in rural Oregon communities started many years ago by connecting rural schools in eastern Oregon through the e-Rate program. He has expanded his company to include collocation, dark fiber, wavelengths, and dedicated internet access. He has helped schools, hospitals, government agencies, and community institutions secure broadband access that, in the past, was only accessible to urban markets. All with his kind and caring approach to those he serves.”
