Square footage is honestly the easiest part of a drywall takeoff.

The hard part is everything after it: deducting openings, splitting finish levels by room, calling out fire-rated board for the mechanical room, & turning area into an actual sheet count. Miss one and you're either short on board on delivery day or paying for square footage you never hang.

The mistakes that show up most drywall contractors:
❌ One flat waste factor for every room, whether it's a simple box or full of soffits and angles
❌ One finish level for the whole job when the lobby is spec'd at Level 5
❌ Measuring off the floor plan without checking ceiling height and type
❌ Undercounting corner bead because it's measured apart from board area

The best trainer at our Dallas Adopt-a-Thon last week wasn't even on our payroll. 🏌️

We brought our team to Top Golf to sit with STACK customers - hearing what they love, what frustrates them, and what they wish existed. Then one customer started teaching another.

A contractor had been holding off on Items in STACK because his material prices change too often. His peer had a simple fix: leave pricing blank on some of his items for that exact reason. Items quantify your materials, labor, & equipment whether you enter a price or not. Leave it at $0.00, plug in a base price for a ballpark, or load your negotiated rates. The quantities still do the heavy lifting.

Contractors trust contractors 👊. We were just glad to pull up a chair.
