If your mug press element is too big for your blank, you may not be getting enough pressure for a strong, even sublimation result.

Michael runs into this issue using the Craft Express Tumbler Mug Press. When the heating element doesn’t fit the blank tightly enough, a thin silicone wrap can add just enough thickness to improve contact and pressure.

It’s a simple workaround when your blank doesn’t quite match the press element and you don’t have a sublimation oven available.

Your mug should feel firm and snug inside the press, but you shouldn’t have to force it closed. Too much pressure can deform the heating element, while too little pressure won’t hold the mug securely.

Not every design translates equally well to glass sublimation.

Solid, dark colors, logos, and text tend to stand out better—especially on clear glass, where there’s no white background behind the image.
