As graduation ceremonies occur this weekend, we wanted to take a moment to recognize some Hokies that have been extremely special to the Cassell Guard.

To our graduating executive board members, thank you for giving your time, effort, and energy to making our student section one of the best in the country. Virginia Tech Basketball is better because of your passion and dedication.

The 2021-2022 Virginia Tech Basketball Season was one for the books. You all brought the energy each and every night and you all made Cassell Coliseum one of the toughest environments to play at in the nation. We are so excited for the future, and we cannot wait to rock again come November! ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐ŸคŸ

Moving forward, we will begin the process for selecting new members of the Cassell Guard Executive Board.

On Wednesday 4/6 at 7PM and Thursday 4/7 at 7PM we will have interest meetings in McBryde 113 for those who wish to apply for a spot on the Executive Board! Please note that you MUST attend one of the interest meetings in order to apply!

We are especially looking for students that are dedicated VT Basketball fans, content creators, graphic designers, and video editors!

Pay attention to social media for more information in the near future! See you all on April 6th and April 7th!

๐‚๐ก๐š๐ฆ๐ฉ๐ฌ, ๐Ÿ๐จ๐ซ๐ž๐ฏ๐ž๐ซ. โค๏ธ

The 2021-2022 season defined resilience and perseverance.

After a slow start to ACC play, including being 2-7 on January 26th, the Hokies turned the ship around and rattled off wins in thirteen of the next fifteen games.

More importantly, the Hokies shocked the rest of the ACC and took home the 2022 ACC Tournament championship with wins over Clemson, Notre Dame, North Carolina, and Duke on consecutive nights.

From the second-ever triple double in VT program history by to Darius Maddox sinking Clemson with a buzzer-beater in the tournament, this season has brought so many things that we will never forget.

That ACC Championship banner will hang forever. We are so thankful that we were able to be a part of this unforgettable season and we cannot wait to pack the Cassell again next November!

From watching break the ACC record for three-pointers AND the Virginia Tech scoring record, to watching Liz Kitley break the Virginia Tech single-game scoring record, the 2021-2022 season was one full of history and records.

In a single campaign, WBB knocked off five top-25 teams, had three players voted as All-ACC honorable mentions or higher, and earned the second highest NCAA tournament seed in program history!

In addition, () took hone the honor of ACC Player of the Year and was selected as an All-American!

The 2021-2022 season was an amazing campaign for the Virginia Tech Womenโ€™s basketball team. The future is undoubtedly bright in Blacksburg! We are so thankful that we got to be a part of it, and we cannot wait to rock with you again in November. Until then, Go Hokies! ๐ŸคŸ
