THE GOAT GOES ELECTRIC! This sensational news spread through every paddock, meaning that the Greatest of All Time is adding an exciting new chapter to his extremely successful career at the age of 52! Graham Jarvis is widely considered the most successful extreme enduro rider in the world, and not just because of his legendary five Red Bull Erzbergrodeo victories. His switch to the JARV-E electric motorcycle, which he actively helped develop, proves that the affable Briton has absolutely no intention of retiring anytime soon.

In the first two races of the Hard Enduro season, the small team still had some fine-tuning to do, but Graham is fully convinced that the first big successes will come soon. "The bike is light, powerful, and extremely agile. The massive torque is available immediately, and it’s a blast to ride in Extreme Enduro!" Jarvis raves about the new JARV-E.

Honda maakt indruk op de TrialGP Japan met de RTL electric.

Tijdens de openingsronde van het TrialGP Wereldkampioenschap 2026 in Japan reed Miquel Gelabert op de eerste dag de Honda RTL Electric naar de zesde plaats in het algemeen klassement, om vervolgens op de tweede dag naar de vijfde plaats te rijden.

Dit is de eerste keer dat een elektrische motorfiets meedoet in de hoogste klasse van TrialGP, maar ook vooraan eindigd tegen ICE concurrenten. Voor een eerste deelname is dat een indrukwekkende prestatie.

De Honda RTL Electric is de eerste volledig elektrische fabriekstrialmotor van Honda Racing Corporation (HRC). De motor is specifiek ontwikkeld om de strijd aan te gaan met traditionele brandstofmotoren in het FIM Trial World Championship

Trialrijden is misschien wel een van de motordisciplines is die het meest geschikt is voor elektrische aandrijvingen. Trialmotoren zijn sterk afhankelijk van balans bij lage snelheden, nauwkeurige gasrespons en directe koppelafgifte, dingen waarin elektrische motorfietsen in uitblinken.

Het is een van de redenen waarom elektrische trialmotoren steeds populairder worden in deze sport. De stillte van de elektromotor is een ander voordeel, vooral in buitengebieden waar geluid beperkingen een steeds grotere rol spelen

We zagen al hoe Stark Future indruk maakte bij motorcross- en enduro-races met de Stark Varg en daarmee hebben ze bewezen dat elektrische crossmotoren competitieve prestaties kunnen leveren. Dit en de Honda RTL Electric laten zien waarom steeds meer teams geloven dat offroad rijden wel eens een van de eerste grote succesverhalen voor elektrische motorfietsen zou kunnen worden.
