PARTICIPANTS NEEDED FOR CONSUMER WEB-BASED SURVEY ON EDAMAME

The VT Sensory Evaluation Lab is recruiting volunteers (18+ years old) to participate in a web-based survey study designed to better understand consumer willingness to pay for edamame (vegetable soybean) products (IRB 18-310). The survey can be accessed here: https://cornell.ca1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_bmG7d7h7o1fDqmx. It contains 25 questions and will take no more than 15 minutes to complete. This knowledge will be used to inform edamame researchers and domestic growers. If you would like additional information or have questions about this study, please contact Renata Carneiro ([email protected]).

Hope everyone is staying safe and productive at home during these difficult times! With all of us being at home more often, we decided to make a Youtube channel to educate people on edamame and the research that our team is conducting to increase availability of this wonderful crop around the US. In this video, you'll get a brief introduction to what edamame is and where to find it.

This is the first of a series of videos we plan to release this year on edamame research and production, so enjoy and stay tuned!

Chances are, you've probably seen or heard about edamame before. What exactly is it? And where can you typically find it in the US?

If you didn't have chance to participate in our edamame sensory studies, no problem! We still need participants for this web-based survey study:

Edamame (vegetable soybean) consumption is increasing in the U.S. and Virginia Tech researchers are working on the development of improved varieties for local production.
Are you 18+ years old and want to support this work? Our researchers in the Virginia Tech Food Science & Technology Department are conducting a web-based survey study to understand what motivates consumers in the U.S. to include, increase, and sustain edamame in their diets (IRB 20-023).
The survey can be accessed here and has 33 questions, which will take you no more than 20 minutes to complete.
Questions or additional information? Please contact Renata Carneiro ([email protected]).
