One of the most valuable things your business has is your list.

Think about it in three groups: past, current, and future customers.

Your past customers already know you and have trusted you enough to do business with you. Are you doing anything to stay in front of them and earn their business again?

Your current customers are already buying from you, but do they actually know everything you offer? There may be opportunities to do more business with the people you already work with simply by communicating with them better.

Then there are your future customers. Who do you want to do business with next, and more importantly, do you have a plan for reaching them?

This is one of the reasons we’re such believers in direct mail. A good campaign isn’t just about designing a postcard, printing it, and dropping it in the mail. It starts with figuring out who you actually want to reach.

Whether that means cleaning up an existing customer list, reconnecting with past customers, reaching a specific demographic, or targeting businesses in a certain industry, the list matters just as much as the piece you’re sending.

At Paperboy, we obviously do a lot of printing and mailing, but ultimately what we’re helping our customers do is reach people.
