That quote from our research captures what so many counselors experience every day.

Jennifer isn't asking for AI to do therapy for her. She's asking for help with the mountain of tasks that aren't therapy but still eat up the hours.
Documentation. Scheduling. Billing follow-ups.
The counselors in our Beyond the Hype report aren't anti-technology. They're overwhelmed, and looking for tools that respect what they do.

Your notes aren't running long because you type slow.

They're running long because your EHR wasn't built for therapy, you don't have a locked-in format, and no one ever taught you what payers actually require.

Our infographic names the six real reasons therapy notes eat your evenings, with a concrete fix for each.

Download the ebook free and see which one is costing you the most time this week.

What does practice success really look like?

We're asking therapists and practice leaders across the country, and turning your answers into a national report on what's actually working in therapy today.

This isn't a product survey. We want your real perspective on the work you do every day.

It'll take about 15-20 minutes, it's confidential, and you'll get early access to the findings when they're ready.

Shape the conversation.

Today, only 13% of counselors use AI for assessment and screening.
Within five years, 41% expect to. That's the largest projected growth of any AI application in our research.

It tracks. Screening tools can reduce the time it takes to identify what a client is dealing with, without asking the clinician to hand over their judgment.

That's a use case counselors can see themselves trusting eventually.
The gap between 13% and 41% is where trust gets built. Or doesn't.

Opening a second location doesn't break most practices.
The small, unglamorous stuff does.

Credentialing delays. Scheduling gaps. Billing workflows that worked - until they didn't. Documentation standards that drift.

We built a checklist for what actually matters before day one - including the paperwork nobody warns you about.

"Can we switch Tuesday at 2 to Thursday at 4?"

Reads like nothing. But if that text hits your personal phone, your brain is already back in work mode, thinking about session notes and running through your Thursday caseload.

Terri Clarke, LPC-S, LMHC of Blank Slate Therapy keeps her work email on the same phone as her personal email, but tucked somewhere she has to actually go look for it. A small bit of friction. Enough to make checking it a choice instead of a reflex.

What do you do to keep client stuff from leaking into your off hours?
