If you've been the victim of an internet scam, please please please report it to the authorities. Make note of all phone numbers used, email addresses, and everything else that could be useful in trying to stop these criminals.

1. Report it to your local law enforcement station. Use their regular phone number; don't call 911.

2. Report it to the FBI through https://www.ic3.gov/complaint

If you gave them any banking information, contact your bank first to stop any payments and to change your banking information.

Dear Photographers: We had to save the day for another photog today with a corrupt camera card. Here are some tips to reduce your risk, because you can't ask them to get married again...

1. Replace your SD and CF cards on a regular basis. They do wear out, so cycle them out of your kit on some regular cadence.

2. Switch cards throughout your shoot. If one card goes bad, at least you have other cards with shots from that shoot on them.

3. When you offload your photos from your card, make sure you have all of the images on your computer and then format the card with your camera's format function.

4. Have a solid backup strategy for your work. Create several copies on location if your gear will be out of your hands at any time, going through x-ray equipment, etc. Have several copies of your work when you get back to your studio.
