Our hearts go out to the Nancy Guthrie Family in the Kidnapping Case. I wanted to bring this up for my Video Surveillance (CCTV) customers and installers. This kidnapping is proof that when you purchase your system, make sure you have your own stand alone DVR hidden in the house. It appears that in this case they had a pay service and dropped it. A Viewing Pay Service or the Cloud is nice, but there are failures. One is what if you don’t pay? They don’t record. Meanwhile your DVR will record 24/7. They are only limited by the amount of TB on the Internal Hard Drive. So be aware of the products and services you actually want or need.

WOW! I just found this old Antenna Sales Flyer from 2015. Ten years ago. Looking at those prices, that was a very good sale. The new Channel Master Rotor in 2026 is around $249.00. So yes, prices have definitely gone up. NOTE: THESE ARE OLD PRICES. WE ARE NOT HONORING THIS 2015 PRICE LIST. *You know we had to Type this in. Right? Lol.

It is with great sadness that I must share this with customers of Benton Electronics. A long time friend and customer of 45 years has passed away today at 4:59PM. Jack Hunt of Hartford. In the 80’s, he was the owner and inventor of JH Fishing Lures. The first lure with a flickering LED light. Unfortunately the Lithium Battery in the Lure gave his company issues in Lake Water and it closed. Since that time, he was one of the only people that I knew that was constantly inventing things. He wanted to change the world. A good family man. A good Christian. He leaves behind a wife, Carolyn and a son. I will miss you, Jack.

When it rains it pours. I told you about NTE closing earlier. For all you small parts guys out there, this is going to be important. Both Molex and Amp have decided to quit the small distributor rack programs. Which means no one will have eithet brand in stock once their inventory is gone. They are going to enforce distributors to stock 100 to 1,000 pc bulk bags. Not good. So once we sell out of our Amp and Molex, we will not be re-stocking. Having those types of quantities makes no sense in this economy. Keep your numbers. Call me or message me if interested in these products. Thank you.

To All the customers of Benton Electronics. While we carry many brands, I have to pass this on to you. NTE Electronics has officially closed. Too big to fail in our industry has just happened. So my inventory of the following will be changing. Semiconductors, resistors, capacitors, motor start and run caps, relays, heat shrink, soldering equipment, thermistors, varistors, diodes, stud Mt rectifiers, LED’s, IC’s, voltage regulators, CMOS, MOSFETS, certain chemicals, solder. The list is long. But it is not me. Benton Electronics is fine and not going anywhere. NTE was the world’s largest Master of Semi’s and the largest semi replacements. They will be missed by millions of customers worldwide. I started doing business with them in 1985, when they were a young company. If you need anything and know the part numbers, you can let me know. This will cause a frenzy in the market. Just wanted to make sure you all knew.

I remember when the Portasol 60watt butane soldering iron first came out in the ‘80’s. Heathkit was still open and they decided it was a great product. Sold these all over southwest Michigan. 1,000’s went out the door. Started at $19.95. Still sold tons of until they re-did the model with improvements. Prices went up past $29.95. Still sell them, just not like in those days. Everything goes in spurts.

It was fun to sell Pioneer back in the day. It’s easy to sell good quality products.
