One of the biggest misconceptions about scaling is that you have to choose between being product-led (PLG) or sales-led (SLG).

But the real power comes from the middle ground.

In our latest episode of 1:1 with Algo, Yoni Osherov shares lessons learned from scaling one of the most successful PLG + SLG models in SaaS.

“From day one, it wasn’t about creating a separate motion, but about augmenting what already worked, expanding what’s possible, and scaling to enterprise at the right time.”

💡 The takeaway:
Don’t treat PLG and enterprise as two different paths. Let PLG generate demand, and use your sales engine to convert and scale.

It’s never been easier to build a startup, but what about building a narrative?

One of the best places to start: the founder’s origin story.

The most resonant companies often come from founders who’ve lived the problem—they’ve felt the pain, and now they’re solving it for others. That human story is what makes people connect.

Even if you’re building in a space you haven’t personally experienced, the key is the same: clarity, conviction, and connection.

Tom Wild said it best. People don’t connect with faceless corporations. They connect with founders. With stories. With lived experience.

🔮 Where’s the smartest AI bet right now?

If you’re a founder or investor, the AI marketscape looks very different today than it did even a year ago. There’s no clear winner yet — but there are a few early insights that top VCs are using to navigate them.

Some quick takeaways from our interview with Eran Bielski, General Partner at Entrée Capital:

➡️ Infra is moving too fast. With constant breakthroughs, defensibility is vanishing quickly. Infra is no longer the safest bet.

➡️ Vertical AI is entering its golden era. Tailored solutions for specific industries (healthcare, legal, logistics, etc.) are looking far more promising than broad horizontal plays.

➡️ Consumer disruption hasn’t happened… yet. Despite the hype, true mass-market AI products are still relegated to search. But when they arrive, they’ll shake entire categories.

🌍 How do tariffs affect AI investing?

In this our latest 1:1 with Algo, Eran Bielski, GP at Entrée Capital, shared how global trade policies hit startups differently:

➡️ Tariffs mostly hurt hardware, software is less exposed
➡️ Early-stage startups can absorb costs easier than incumbents
➡️ Founders need to factor tariffs into ops & manufacturing decisions

For investors, tariffs don’t change the thesis, but for founders, they’re one more variable to plan for.

💡 How do you spot genuine AI innovation vs. AI washing?

Not every startup with “AI” on their website is truly building with AI.

Listen to how seasoned venture capitalist cuts through the fluff.

👉 The key question: It’s not about “does it have AI?” but “is AI truly the engine of value?”
