Today our Summer Enrichment Program brought learning to life with an unforgettable trip to Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty! 🇺🇸🗽

At BGCBA, our evidence-based summer program is designed to prevent summer learning loss by combining academics with meaningful, hands-on experiences that help young people connect what they learn in the classroom to the world around them.

This week’s theme, “Around the World,” gave our members the opportunity to explore the history of immigration, the stories of millions who came to America through Ellis Island, and the enduring symbol of hope and freedom that is the Statue of Liberty.

Pictured here is Zylen Roundtree, a proud second-generation BGCBA member, standing in front of Lady Liberty. Moments like these remind us that the Boys & Girls Club is a place where traditions are built, curiosity is sparked, and the next generation is inspired.

Thank you to everyone who helps make these life-changing experiences possible. Together, we’re ensuring our youth continue learning, growing, and discovering all summer long.

Today we celebrate Juneteenth, a day that commemorates the end of slavery in the United States. On June 19, 1865, more than two years after the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation, enslaved people in Galveston, Texas were finally informed of their freedom. Juneteenth is a time to honor the resilience, achievements, and contributions of Black Americans while reflecting on the ongoing pursuit of equality, justice, and opportunity for all. ❤️🖤💚

Good luck to Malaya Robinson, BGCBA's Youth of the Year, as she competes in the NYS competition!!! Malaya is set to join Manhattanville University to study Radiological Technology. Malaya is also Keystone's treasurer and a valued member of the Workforce Development team.! We are so proud of you!
