Today is Mother Theresa Day in Albania

Mother Mary Teresa Bojaxhiu (birth name: Anjezë Gonxhe Bojaxhiu), Albanian-Indian nun and missionary, (No Greater Love). Anjezë Gonxhe Bojaxhiu was born August 26, 1910 in Skopje, Macedonia. At the age of 18, Anjezë moved to Ireland to join the order of the Sisters of Loreto where she adopted the name Theresa. Her family moved to Albania in 1934.

This holiday celebrates the anniversary of the beatification of Mother Theresa by Pope John Paul II. She was anointed as Blessed Teresa of Calcutta on October 19, 2003.
