Mad Scientist in search of general funding for mad scientists activities (work)
Own a business? Food Truck? RV? Home?
Perhaps I missed an opportunity here.
I am a technology expert, background in audio, video, automation, and computer sciences... certified geek, even have a CTS to back it. I did a full media package for a party bus last year, and that got me back to thinking about RV's and Food Trucks. Most people are afraid to mess with 5v/12v/24v/120v/240v floating ac/dc shoreline power rectifiers with solar MPPT's... and understandably.
My wife started a food truck two years ago, and it was a used unit and I have done an extensive amount of improvements to the unit. and towards the end of last year we shifted to a greener home ups generator over the gas generators. awesome improvement for the clients, awesome for $5/gallon gas at 2 gallons a hour... IE an 8hour shift with a semi eco gas generator right now is burning over minimum wage... something like $10-15/hour in gas to run your food truck ~$100-$150 in a full day for the summer at least and who knows next year. So, if you are operating at more than 15hours a week for the summer, you could benefit from this conversation, break even and not pay gas next year or the next 10 years of battery life.
So, onward, a particular 'name brand' machine broke on the truck, its proprietary, its about $10,000 to replace, $3,500 refurbished.
I dug into what it would take to bypass with a DIY automation system. and noticed the amount of things I could do for a food truck that would improve any of your setups. Side note, want Ice cream for life? I'll name a shake after someone and give them a golden ticket for 2 treats a day for the rest of the food trucks existence if you wanted to fund the automated food truck I'm doing. "The most epic soft swirl ice cream machine in the world" it will be discussed for ages... :D
