Family… Have you ever noticed that we always refer to ourselves as family? Yes, UED is a small family owned business, spanning 4 generations, but for the majority of us with no relation, it’s so much more than that. It’s working for years next to the same people, some days spending more waking hours with each other than the people we live with. It’s talking to Linda about her vacation or Dan about the tomatoes in his garden, hearing about Jennie’s granddaughter or Kate’s dog, celebrating with Lila after the birth of her first baby and Josh’s home purchase. It’s exchanging gifts at Christmas, celebrating birthdays and retirements, and leaning on each other during difficult times… We know we’re stronger together and support each other as we work towards a common goal.
Sadly, today we grieve together as we remember one of our own – Don Bugelli. Don was one of 14 employees who hold a 20+ year tenure. He started on December 9, 1991. A man of great drive and tenacity, at 88 years old, Don still WANTED to come to work every day – where he was welcome because of the value he continued to bring to our team. So many of us have our own stories, memories, and favorite Don moments as we’ve been through a number of different seasons together. Today is tough, but “Old Guy,” fill up that old thermos. You’re now good for unlimited miles. We miss you already.
