I don't update much here on this page, but the BWR BBS is still alive and well! Not sure how many current callers follow this page...the BBS is temporarily down at this time, drive controller issues. It will be back soon! Everything is backed up and should pick up right where it left off!

The IP of the BBS changed for the first time in about 7 years recently. I know it was listed on some of the BBS lists by IP for some reason. If you cannot connect, be sure you are using the ddns address, which is bwrbbs (dot) ddns (dot) net. Should be able to connect via either telnet or ssh. Another way to connect easily is to use the HTMLTerm on the TelnetBBSGuide listing here. Drop by and try out the RealmIM BBS Client (in the Doors/Games menu). It's a client for an IM/Chat Room project I built a few years back (2015) in MSSQL/PHP/JS. I wrote this in QuickBASIC (of all things) using the old easy-door library from Vagabond software. SQL IO is handled by a C # app, comms between QB and C # are via carefully timed drop files. Drop in and say hi to Lance and myself, we're in and out most days.

It's fun to see the activity on the BBS ramping up lately. We are approaching our 10th year (next month) of generally uninterrupted service (aside from a hardware failure stent last year for a bit.) This BBS has been up longer than any local-to-my-area BBS was as far as length of time during the heyday of boards.
