🤖 AI can write code. But can your developer actually read it?

AI has completely changed software development.

It can generate components, troubleshoot bugs, suggest architecture, write tests, and help developers build faster than ever before.

And I think that’s awesome.

But there’s an important difference between using AI to write code and understanding the code AI writes.

When I’m building something for a client, I don’t want to just prompt an AI, see that the page loads, and call it finished.

A developer still needs to understand:

🧠 What the code is actually doing
🔒 Whether it introduces security problems
⚡ Why something is slow or inefficient
🧩 How different parts of the application interact
🐛 How to debug something when AI gets it wrong
📈 Whether the architecture can grow with the business
🛠️ How to maintain the project long after the first version launches

AI is an incredible tool, and I use it.

But AI should amplify a developer’s knowledge—not replace it.

At PajamasWeb, my goal isn’t to build things with AI instead of understanding them.

It’s to combine AI with actual development knowledge so I can build better software, faster—while still knowing what’s happening under the hood.

Because when your website or application matters to your business, “the AI said this should work” isn’t good enough.

💻 Build smarter. Understand what you build.

Build your own WordPress website or hire an independent developer? 🤔

Both can be good choices. The right fit depends on your budget, your time, and what you need your website to do.

🛠️ Making your own WordPress site

✅ Can cost less upfront.
✅ Templates help you get started.
✅ You can manage your own content and learn useful skills along the way.

⚠️ Building and troubleshooting take time.
⚠️ Hosting, premium themes, and plugins can add to your costs.
⚠️ Updates, backups, and maintenance still need someone’s attention.

💻 Hiring an independent developer

✅ You get someone who can turn your business goals into a working website.
✅ Design and features can be tailored to your needs.
✅ You spend less of your own time figuring out the technical details.

⚠️ Usually requires a larger upfront investment.
⚠️ Custom features take time to plan and build.
⚠️ Ongoing support, ownership, and how you’ll make updates should be agreed on before work begins.

And a developer can build with WordPress, too! Hiring help and choosing a platform are separate decisions.

If you enjoy learning and need a straightforward site, going DIY may make sense. If you need specific functionality—or your time is better spent running your business—working with a developer may be worth the investment.

At PajamasWeb, I help small businesses and creators build websites around what they need.

Have an idea or a website you’ve outgrown? Send me a message. Let’s talk about what would work for you. 🌙

Things are moving at PajamasWeb! 🚀

I’ve added new projects and updates to the website so you can follow what I’m building and how it’s coming together.

Two projects I’m excited to share:

🃏 Final Flip — A card game project inspired by War, with deckbuilding and strategic twists.

🤝 Fusion Syndicate — A planned platform where creators collaborating with BardFusion and indieOATS can track coupon redemptions, see their earnings, and manage payouts.

I want PajamasWeb to be a place where you can see the ideas, the progress, and the people behind the work.

Stop by, explore the projects, and tell me which one you’re most curious about! 👇

A little motion. A little personality. A fresh touch for PajamasWeb. ✨

I’ve added animation to the hero section—the first thing you see when you visit the website—to bring a little more life to the design.

That’s one of my favorite parts of building: taking an idea, getting it working, and then adding the details that make it feel like your own.

Take a look and let me know what you think! 👇

🃏 NEW PROJECT: FINAL FLIP 🎨

I’ve officially started working on my next project at PajamasWeb: Final Flip.

Final Flip is a digital card game inspired by the simplicity of games like War, but built around deck creation, strategy, counters, environments, character abilities, and those moments where one card can completely flip the outcome of a round.

And this time, I’d really like to build it with other creators.

I’ve posted the project on BardFusion, and one of the first things I’m looking for is an artist (or artists!) interested in helping develop the visual identity of the game — character cards, creatures, environments, card art, or potentially even helping shape the overall art direction.

You don’t need to be part of a giant studio or have ten years of professional experience. If you’re an illustrator, character artist, concept artist, comic artist, or just someone building a portfolio who thinks this sounds fun, I’d love to hear from you.

One of the reasons I built BardFusion was to create a place where developers, artists, writers, designers, and other creative people could actually find each other and build something together.

So it feels pretty fitting that I’m going to use it for Final Flip. 😄

🎮 Project: Final Flip
🎨 Looking for: Artists / Illustrators / Concept Artists
🤝 Collaboration: Through BardFusion
🌐 Find the project on: BardFusion.com

If this sounds like something you’d want to be involved with, check out the project or send me a message.

And if you know an artist who would absolutely crush this kind of project, tag them below. 👇

Let’s build something cool.

I think one of the coolest things about building software today is that you don’t need a massive company behind you to turn an idea into something real.

You need an idea, some curiosity, a willingness to learn, and the patience to keep building when things don’t work the first time. 😅

That’s a big part of what PajamasWeb is about.

Over the last year, I’ve been pushing beyond simply building websites and deeper into building actual products — experimenting with AI, developing web applications, creating brands, and figuring out how technology can help small businesses and creators do things that used to require much bigger teams and budgets.

Some ideas work.

Some get rebuilt five times.

Some start as “I wonder if I could…” and somehow turn into a real application people can actually use.

And honestly, that’s my favorite part.

I want PajamasWeb to be a place where good ideas don’t get stuck at the “someday” stage just because someone isn’t a programmer or doesn’t have a Silicon Valley-sized budget.

If you’ve got an idea for a business, app, website, or something slightly weird that you’re not even sure is possible yet…

Those are exactly the conversations I like having. 🌙💻

Build something cool.

PajamasWeb has a new look! 🧵✨

I’ve redesigned pajamasweb.com with a fresh visual identity, including a new woven PW icon. The idea behind it is simple: great digital experiences come from bringing design, technology, and people together.

This new look feels more like the work I want to do: thoughtful, creative, and built around real ideas. I’d love for you to take a look and tell me what you think.
