Client Story: personal phones and BYOD security scare.

An employee quit. It almost took down the entire sales pipeline.

Heres what happened. a design and blueprint firm handling business for subcontractors had their whole sales team working leads on personal cell phones. Nobody thought twice about it, until one salesperson left.

Turns out the business's main publicized number was tied to that person's personal accounts. Pulling them out broke things on both sides. It became a scramble nobody had time for.

This wasn't really a phone problem though. It was an ownership problem. If your communications, email, and devices live on personal accounts instead of company infrastructure, you don't actually control your own business. Your people do, whether they mean to or not.

The fix was straightforward but critical.

I consolidated every number into one VoIP system with softphone support, so people could still use their own devices without the business depending on them personally.

I turned on the email security they were already paying for through Microsoft Business Premium, after a prior breach with zero impersonation protection in place.

I brought Apple devices into Apple Business Manager and set up Intune, so company apps could be managed on both company-owned and personal devices.

I took a business running off their employees to a business running off systems they control.
