If you've been lucky enough to catch graphic designers infighting online about gen-AI, you may have heard a few words and phrases you don't quite understand.
Maybe 'vector' or 'raster'? Here's the difference between the two, and why you hear us making a fuss when someone designs a print-intended file in a web-intended program.

AHEM-PRINT IS NOT DEAD.
Just your regular reminder.

Getting to create branded pieces for a client after we complete their logo is so much fun— I love seeing everything come together! This pre and post-pregnancy yoga studio in Portland, OR used sandwich boards as directionals, rackcards and business cards as leave-behinds, and provided branded merch for their clients.

When I design a logo and provide branding guidelines, it makes it easy for me AND/OR other web/promo item/etc. designer to keep everything looking as though one person did it all, and kept everything branded and matching (which is exactly why I do it!) Starting another week with a throwback design—This might be one of my favorite logo designs and menu brandings I ever worked on— a few years back, I got to create this for a pop-up restaurant outside of Portland, OR. Making the O the shape of the traditional soban style table ended up working perfectly.

Need a little fun in your branding? Hit me up. pamhuberdesigns.com

Y’all want a little peek at what the logo process might look like? Here’s one I love that I did a couple years ago. Based on market research, her replies to a whole bunch of questions I made her answer (😬), and pages of pencil doodles, here’s what I sent her. And this was a VERY smooth revision and decision process- it’s often a little more complex. I’ll show one of those next time 😉

Ok, welcome to PRINT ISN’T DEAD. I’m gonna do this regularly, so prepare yourselves.

I’ve focused mostly on print design my whole, very long career now. Why? Because I like it. I like the tangibility. The steps involved. But mostly, I like the versatility-you can always easily convert a piece designed for print into a digital design. What you can’t do is the opposite.

We did these with an upgraded paper and spot gloss on the logo, and they POP. I love them. 😍

A sneak peek at something fun I was working on last week using only AI!*

*Adobe Illustrator. That’s it. Well, that, and a lot of patience. And a bit of a headache. This was really zoomed in. 🤣 🐍

Logo clients usually come to me for one of 3 reasons- they’ve never had a logo or any visual branding, they have unusable files from their first logo design, or they’re ready for an upgraded rebrand. Sound familiar? Here’s how I can help!
