My logo process is a mess. It is. Way before it gets to this part, it starts on papers strewn about my desk, covered in pencil (I wish I had these sketches still!). It then morphs onto the screen (scroll, please) and takes on a life of its own allll over my computer files.

I really liked this one and how they pushed me away from a typical fruity color scheme. But they had a different vision for their coastal lifestyle/furniture brand, and I'm stoked I got to fulfill it for them.

Getting to create branded pieces for a client after we complete their logo is so much fun— I love seeing everything come together! This pre and post-pregnancy yoga studio in Portland, OR used sandwich boards as directionals, rackcards and business cards as leave-behinds, and provided branded merch for their clients.

Starting another week with a throwback design—This might be one of my favorite logo designs and menu brandings I ever worked on— a few years back, I got to create this for a pop-up restaurant outside of Portland, OR. Making the O the shape of the traditional soban style table ended up working perfectly.

Based on market research, her replies to a whole bunch of questions I made her answer (😬), and pages of pencil doodles, here’s what I sent her. Ok, welcome to PRINT ISN’T DEAD. I’m gonna do this regularly, so prepare yourselves.

I’ve focused mostly on print design my whole, very long career now. Why? Because I like it. I like the tangibility. The steps involved. But mostly, I like the versatility-you can always easily convert a piece designed for print into a digital design. What you can’t do is the opposite.

We did these with an upgraded paper and spot gloss on the logo, and they POP. I love them. 😍
