Since we are blessed with so much work on the shore, for the third consecutive Christmas season, Novak's Computer Services has sponsored a tree at the Millville Festival of Trees.

From the website - Over 85 Christmas trees decorated and sponsored by local businesses! Proceeds go to helping local families in. need have a magical holiday season, facilitated by Lord Baltimore Elementary School.

Gina and I did the tree decorating this year. Our 'tree neighbors", a church and an orchard, were fun to "work" alongside!

We got to have a brief but wonderful visit with some of the Captains Quarters crew - our longtime friends Jeff and Charles!!

Good wholesome family fun to be had at the Millville Boardwalk. Admission is my favorite price - FREE!!!

Gina and I felt like we walked into a live Hallmark Christmas movie last Saturday when we went to visit the Festival of Trees at the Millville Boardwalk! Crisp, cool evening, lots of trees and decorations to view while peacefully strolling the grounds.

Went there primarily to see what exactly we were participating in when choosing to sponsor a tree. Took us awhile and we found the Novak's Computer Services sponsored tree, on the right going towards the Agape Creamery.

Naturally we then chose to indulge ourselves with ice cream. Gina chose the Coconut Joy and both were excellent! Consumed our treats while sitting in The Lodge. Set up to look like a ski lodge, it has tables, blankets, and even board games to play!

We then made our way back to the Captains Quarters Arcade and was REAL HAPPY to see our friends Charles and Jeff. Know both of them from way back in their Playland days. We still feel thankful and blessed as to how they would ALWAYS keep an extra eye on Mom while she stayed there.

We are REALLY happy about choosing to participate in a so very cool event at such a family-friendly free admission venue.

Tips worth repeating:
-- Set up dual authentication on critical sites - online banking, credit cards, Facebook, Amazon, etc.
-- Set up automatic notifications for credit card activity and bank activity.
-- BACK UP YOUR VALUABLE DATA! Whether it be pictures, tax returns, word documents, letters, etc., have another copy on a thumb drive, and/or in the cloud, and/or on another PC, BACK IT UP!!!
-- If you don't recognize the phone number on caller-ID, DON'T ANSWER IT! More than likely it's someone trying to scam you. If it's someone legit, they will leave a legit message.
-- If you don't recognize the sender of an email, DON'T open any of its attachments, DON'T click on any links embedded in it!
-- Keep your Windows operating system and apps up to date! The creeps are out there constantly figuring out ways to circumvent apps to create chaos! The updates plug the latest security holes.
-- DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT, give someone you do not know remote access to your computer!

Will be going to Costco in Columbia in the near future to refill our empty ink cartridges.
It saves 50 to 75 percent refilling versus buying new.
Plus it's a good practice for the reduce, reuse, recycle fans.

Since some of us have time to fill, here are some constructive and productive computer things you can do:
-- Delete old emails in your inbox, sent folder, etc.
-- Set up dual authentication on critical sites - online banking, credit cards, Facebook, Amazon, etc.
-- Along those same lines, set up automatic notifications for when something is charged on your credit card, when a withdraw is executed on your checking or savings accounts, etc.
-- This has been said more than once on this page over the years, but gonna say it again - BACK UP YOUR VALUABLE DATA! Whether it be pictures, tax returns, word documents, letters, etc., have another copy on a thumb drive, and/or in the cloud, and/or on another PC, BACK IT UP!!!
