More home bakers need to start selling baked goods from their homes.

My friend gave me two dozen eggs from her farm stand, and I’m absolutely spoiled now. The color, the flavor, the freshness. Store-bought just isn’t the same.

the bakers who grow past farmers market income figured out one thing.

events.

birthdays, wedding favors, corporate gifts, teacher appreciation.

those buyers have more budget, more loyalty, and they come back every year.

here’s how to start capturing them:
✅ add “custom orders” to your bio with a way to contact you

☝🏻 post one event you’ve done, even if it was for a friend

💰price event orders at a minimum order value — no more $12 dozen one-offs

📝follow up with every customer after delivery. that’s your next referral.

your saturday market crowd is a starting point. not a ceiling.

TikTok is the best place to find customers for your home bakery.
Here’s how

I went to a farm stand recently and honestly? She reminded me why small businesses win.

Here’s what she did right:

• I found her through a local Facebook group. The second I mentioned we were neighbors, she messaged me and we ended up chatting about baking like actual humans instead of “thanks for your order 😊”

• She followed up later to let me know when her stand was open. Not spammy. Just smart. She stayed top of mind.

• Variety matters. She didn’t just sell cookies. She had scones, candied nuts, infused local honey, lip balms, and more. It felt like an experience, not a transaction.

• MERCH. She gave me a tote with her logo on it. A tote!! Do you know how many times I’ll reuse that and think about her bakery?

That’s the stuff people remember.

Not perfect branding.
Not a fancy storefront.
Connection, personality, and making people feel like they discovered something special.

Home bakers: this is how you build repeat customers without feeling “salesy.”

The real reason your home bakery isn’t growing? Marketing.
