Accurate Design Starts with Knowing What’s Actually in the Field.
For OSP design, assumptions only get you so far. Having accurate, up-to-date information on existing utility infrastructure is an important part of developing a reliable design.
Our Williams Communication field teams use tools like the Katapult stick, along with photography and high-accuracy GNSS equipment, to document existing conditions on utility poles and at mid-span locations between poles.
These measurements help us capture important information such as attachment heights, clearances, existing facilities, and other field conditions that can directly impact pole analysis, make-ready engineering, and OSP design.
And sometimes collecting that information means getting a little off the beaten path!
From city streets to challenging and remote terrain, our team is prepared to go where the infrastructure takes us.
