Employee Spotlight!

Congratulations Dan Landis, for being nominated as the employee to spotlight 👏

We asked Dan a few questions about himself and working at MPS, and here are some of his answers! Get to know Dan:

What are your two or three favorite things about your job/working at MPS?
Being able to work from home where it is quiet and limited distractions.
Working for a company that has the most innovative technology in the industry and continues to come out with groundbreaking technology.

What are one or two of your biggest success stories with MPS?
Getting my hometown as one of my first clients.
Being able to share technology that creates safer streets. We are making a difference.

What are a few personal things you want to share?
I am very involved in my church as a worship leader and assistant pastor. I am also on the leadership team with our Celebrate Recovery program where I help people learn how to overcome addictions, hurts, habits and hangups which is very rewarding. Seeing people overcome years of addiction and being able to love people where they are has been a great experience.
I spend as much time as possible in the woods hunting deer, wild hogs and turkeys.
I have 3 amazing children and now have 2 beautiful grandchildren.

Residents,

Some of you may have noticed devices being installed in various areas of town. These devices are known as “Safety Sticks”. A “Safety Stick” is a municipal parking enforcement device used to monitor and deter illegal parking in critical areas. We have seen an increase in motor vehicle crashes due to illegally parked vehicles along with numerous parking complaints. These devices are being placed in areas that create hazards such as.

• Crosswalks where an increase of pedestrian’s travel.

• Intersections that have narrow turns where obstruction can be a hazard for motorist.

• Intersections where Emergency Vehicles (Fire Trucks) cannot turn properly.

How does it work?

Each Safety Stick is set on a 90 second parameter that detects if a vehicle enters and parks illegally in a “No Parking” zone. If the vehicle remains parked for more then 90 seconds in the restricted zone, the Safety Stick captures a photo, including the date, time and location providing clear evidence of the violation. Once Little Ferry Police personnel review and approve the evidence, a summons will then be issued and mailed to the registered owner.

How to avoid a summons?

Do NOT park in restricted zones. Obey all posted signs and road markings indicating a “No Parking” area.

The Little Ferry Police Department is committed to providing a safe community for all, lets work together to create a safer Little Ferry.

• NOTE -These devices are NOT activated at the moment but will be in the near future. Once they are activated we will send out a reminder to our residents.
