The complete premium install ⚡

77" LG OLED, full-motion articulating mount, in-wall power kit. This is arguably the top-tier configuration in residential AV — three technically demanding elements stacked together in one Tarrytown living room.

Why 77" LG OLED specifically? LG manufactures the OLED panels that Sony, Panasonic, and others use — so LG C4 and G4 at 77" is buying directly from the source. 77" is big enough for genuine cinematic viewing at typical Austin living room distances but small enough to fit installations that 83" and 97" cannot. It's arguably the flagship OLED size in the entire market.

Why the install is technically demanding:

▪️ The 77" OLED weighs 65-75 lbs — at the upper edge of full-motion mount ratings. Wrong mount = sagging within a year or catastrophic failure.
▪️ Full-motion arms multiply effective leverage at extension. Cantilevered loads at extended positions can double or triple the force on wall anchors. Multi-stud anchoring is mandatory.
▪️ In-wall power kits are the only code-compliant way to hide the power cord (standard TV power cords are not rated for in-wall use — that's an NEC violation and a real fire risk).
▪️ Cable management has to allow the full arm range. Intentional slack loops sized for the arm's full extension prevent cables from disconnecting when the arm moves.

Get all of it right and the finished install is one of the most beautiful configurations in residential AV: a 77" OLED that appears to float off the wall, extends to whatever angle the room needs, and shows only the TV with zero visible cabling.

Soundbar above or below the TV over a fireplace? The answer matters more than most people think 🔊

Fresh install: 65" Sony Bravia and matching soundbar in a Rosedale living room, mounted over a renovated tile fireplace.

Here's the placement question we get all the time and the honest answer:

BELOW the TV is almost always right over a fireplace. Sound source at ear height from the couch, tightest dialogue clarity, and the soundbar doesn't fight the reflective mantel or ceiling.

ABOVE the TV puts the soundbar above ear height and creates a fighting sound field where reflections off the mantel and ceiling muddy the audio. Sounds worse, looks visually top-heavy.

ON the mantel is workable if there's no other option but the mantel edge often blocks part of the driver, and it puts the soundbar at an odd height relative to the seating.

Other things that matter on a fireplace-soundbar install:

▪️ Slim wall-mount bracket keeps the soundbar close to the wall for the flush look
▪️ HDMI ARC/eARC routed through the wall via low-voltage pass-through plates (never draped down the tile)
▪️ Sony pairs especially well with soundbars — Cognitive Processor XR handles audio processing through the TV that lets you get away with a smaller soundbar

Done right, the whole install looks like a single intentional focal point rather than "TV plus stuff bolted around it."

Renting at The Domain and want your TV mounted without losing your deposit? 📺

Here's how we handle apartment installs at Domain-style luxury buildings where the lease treats every hole bigger than a picture nail as damage:

▪️ Stud-anchored mount (required regardless of who owns the wall — a 55" TV weighs 40-50 lbs and drywall anchors will pull out over time)
▪️ Paintable external cord cover routing cables down to the console
▪️ Wall damage limited to four small mount anchor holes that spackle in minutes at move-out
▪️ No in-wall power kits, no drywall cable channels, no lease violations

The cord cover is the key. It hides the cables in a clean vertical channel, comes in paintable finish so you can match your wall color if you want it to disappear even further, and at move-out it comes off and the wall goes back to being a wall.

That's the professional lease-friendly answer. You get a real install, you don't get a cable draped down to your console, AND you get your deposit back at move-out.

The Domain, Rock Rose, Domain Northside, The Grove, or anywhere in the north Austin apartment corridor — we handle apartment installs at the same quality level as any homeowner job.

Can you use an indoor TV outside? Honest answer 📺

We get this question all the time, and here's the real answer: it depends entirely on the conditions the TV will actually face.

This Pflugerville install: 43" indoor TV mounted on a pergola post with a single-arm full-motion mount. Homeowner's pergola is fully covered — no direct rain, no direct sun on the screen — so they chose to save the outdoor-rated TV markup and use an indoor model. Under those specific conditions, it's a legitimate decision that works.

Where indoor TVs fail outdoors:
▪️ Direct sun on the screen (UV + heat damage)
▪️ Driving rain during storms (water in ports)
▪️ Humidity extremes (internal condensation)
▪️ Dust and pollen accumulation over time

Central Texas summers are actually harder on electronics than moisture is — heat is the real killer.

If the install location is fully protected on all sides and sheltered from Central Texas weather, an indoor TV under cover is a reasonable homeowner decision and saves real money. If the location has ANY exposure to sun or rain, we'll tell you upfront that an outdoor-rated TV is the safer route. Samsung Terrace, SunBrite, and Furrion all make great options and we sell and install any of them.

That's what we do — give you the straight information and let you decide what makes sense for your setup, then install it right either way.

Basic install done right in Manor 📺

Not every TV install needs to be a $4,000 Frame TV over a stone fireplace. A lot of homeowners just want a good-value TV, a solid mount, and a professional install that gets the job done without the upsell.

This Manor install: 55" Roku TV, low-profile fixed mount, stud-anchored, level dialed to the eye from the couch, cleanly cabled to the media console below. No wire concealment — the homeowner didn't want the extra cost, and for a 55" install in a standard living room, a clean cable route to a nearby console looks fine.

Here's what a professional basic install actually delivers that a cheap install doesn't:

- Stud anchoring (not drywall anchors — those pull out over time under a cantilevered TV)
- Mount weight rating that actually matches the TV
- Level to the eye from where you sit, not just to a bubble on the wall
- Tested from your viewing position before we leave

A basic install doesn't mean a careless install. It means the same care as any premium job, without the pressure to add services you didn't ask for. Manor and the eastern metro have grown a lot in the last few years, and we're happy to serve out here for straightforward installs at the same standard we bring to a Westlake home theater build.

Sony Bravia 8 OLED with a Sanus full-motion mount in Anderson Mill 📺

Two decisions that tell you this homeowner did their homework:

1. Sony Bravia 8 instead of the Samsung/LG equivalents. Sony uses LG's OLED panel but pairs it with Sony's Cognitive Processor XR — a picture-processing chip that handles upscaling, motion, and color rendition differently. Reviewers consistently rate Sony's OLED image quality as the most cinematic-tuned in the market. Not the cheapest OLED, not the flashiest — the one buyers who care about picture quality specifically tend to pick.

2. Sanus mount instead of whatever came in the "value bundle." Sanus is one of the mount brands professional installers actually trust — the build quality, the pivot mechanism, and the load ratings are engineered above what most consumer mount brands offer. Real difference in feel and longevity.

Matched-quality decisions like that deserve an install that matches. Multi-stud anchoring for the cantilevered load of the articulating arm. Cable slack planned for full arm extension. Level tested from the actual viewing position, not just level on the wall. Every articulation point checked before we leave.

We sold both the Sony and the Sanus through our authorized dealer relationships — one company, one appointment, no compatibility guessing between the TV, the mount, and the install.

A Frame Pro on natural Hill Country stone 🖼️

65" Samsung Frame TV Pro over a Bee Cave stone fireplace. The homeowner bought the Frame Pro through us at authorized dealer pricing — sold, delivered, and installed in one appointment.

Here's the technical detail that made this install unusual. The Frame Pro's entire aesthetic premise is that the TV looks like a piece of framed art on the wall — flush against the surface, no visible mounting hardware, minimal profile. The included Slim Fit Wall Mount is engineered specifically for that flush look — but it's designed for FLAT surfaces.

Natural stone by its nature is not flat. The variation in stone height and texture is what makes stone beautiful as a fireplace material. Force a flush mount onto uneven stone and you get either an unstable install with load bearing on high points and gaps at low points, or a TV that sits noticeably away from the stone with visible standoff. Neither preserves the Frame Pro aesthetic.

So for this install we sourced a specialized third-party mount engineered for uneven surfaces — one that lets us secure the TV solidly against the stone while preserving the flush profile the Frame Pro is designed for. It's a specific technical decision most installers don't think about, and it's the difference between a Frame Pro that reads as art and one that reads as an expensive TV bolted awkwardly onto rock.

That's what an authorized dealer install looks like — not just running the mount that came in the box, but choosing the right hardware for the surface the customer actually has.

85" TV over a fireplace on a full-motion mount 🖼️↔️

The fireplace TV problem most people don't articulate but everyone notices: fireplaces push the TV up higher on the wall than what's comfortable to watch from the couch. Straight-on viewing means craning your neck. Fixed mounts can't fix this.

Full-motion mount at 85" solves it. When you're not watching, the TV tucks flat against the tile fireplace surround the way any nice fireplace-TV install should look. When you ARE watching, the arm swings the TV down and toward the seating area to a genuinely comfortable viewing height and angle.

The install is technically demanding. The 85" weighs about 90 pounds — most full-motion mounts aren't rated for that size, so we pick a mount engineered for the weight AND the leverage that comes from extending an articulated arm at that scale. The tile is diamond-drilled with masonry-rated anchors distributing the load across multiple studs. The cable run is planned with intentional slack loops so cables can move with the arm without disconnecting.

Most techs won't do full-motion at 85". Do it right and you get an install that solves the fireplace-height problem instead of just tolerating it.

The part of a clean TV install most homeowners never see 🔌

75" Samsung TV in a Bouldin Creek living room with the power cord completely hidden inside the wall using a code-compliant in-wall power relocation kit.

Here's the code question in simple terms: standard TV power cords are NOT rated for in-wall use. They're built for open-air use only, and running a standard cord inside a closed wall cavity is both a code violation and a real fire risk because the cord isn't rated to dissipate heat inside drywall.

The legal fix is a UL-listed in-wall power transfer kit: an in-wall-rated receptacle behind the TV connected by in-wall-rated wiring to a second receptacle at the standard outlet height. Both receptacles are code-compliant, the wiring between them is rated for in-wall use, and the entire system passes electrical inspection.

Some installers skip this and run a standard cord inside the wall anyway. We don't. The extra $75-150 in kit cost is real protection against a fire risk that shows up years down the road — and the finished wall looks identical either way. There's no reason to do it the wrong way.

If you've had a TV installed with a "hidden cord" and no one mentioned a power kit, worth asking what actually got installed inside the wall. Sometimes what you don't see is the thing that matters most.
