In 2003, Honda and agency Wieden+Kennedy changed car commercials forever with one word: "Cog."
No CGI. No digital tricks. Just pure mechanical engineering.
Using actual, disassembled parts from a brand-new Honda Accord, they created an elaborate 2-minute chain reaction where transmissions, wipers, springs, and window glass clicked into place with absolute precision.
It looks like a single seamless take, but it took 60 attempts over 3 days of filming to get it right.
The ad ends with the fully assembled Accord rolling into frame, followed by one of the most iconic taglines in automotive history: "Isn’t it nice when things just work?"
