It’s been over a week, but here’s the recap of the Prairie Center for the Arts show over Memorial Day.
Short of it : Exceeded expectations:
sales, patrons, friends, weather
Needs improvement: my health & endurance
Here’s the { } version of this post:
I’m pivoting, please support my practice.
Also update
my project 55mins | 5 x 5 - for 62/100 days made up just under 55% of my sales
So glad I started!
First thank you, thank you, THANK YOU! To everyone that came out and supported my art. And eternally grateful to my friends, and for making my set up even possible.
Long story: like most art fairs, the decision and (money $) to do this show was in February, when I still was delusional thinking, this diagnosis can’t change me and I can do it all! This was also the first show I cancelled last year (lost money) so I was determined to have a redo! I had high hopes, and figured I’d take the risk. But after radiation in January, I have severe loss of upper body strength. I’m on the mend, but it’s slow. So instead of canceling, I enlisted some friends, had a great show, but it took me days to recover. Needless to say, I haven’t signed up for any other shows this year.
Another thing obvious is I need my art income and art sanity. I do love art shows ~ meeting patrons, talking one and one about my art and process, but that’s not doable for this year.
So, fair warning, I’ll be trying other avenues more direct in the near future.
I’m extremely grateful for my art community and people that support my art. Stay tune for what’s next and ways you might be able to contribute.
~love & light ~ dear ones
