This week, our firm secured a $58 million verdict, the largest in our firm's history and one of the largest malicious arrest verdicts ever recorded in Georgia. Justice has been achieved for Dr. James Quinn.

Stanford Professor Dr. Quinn helped transform Chemence Medical into a multi-million-dollar success. When he sued for the commissions he rightfully earned, the company retaliated and fabricated felony charges that carried a potential 35-year prison sentence.

We are gratified that the jury saw through this misconduct and that Dr. Quinn's reputation has been formally restored. This affirms that the justice system cannot be weaponized for business leverage.

After a three-week trial, just the night before closing arguments, our trial team reached an $18 million settlement in a birth injury case against a Chicago area hospital.

The case involved a first-time mother who presented to the hospital at 40 weeks pregnant. Our team argued that the hospital staff did not timely perform a c-section, resulting in oxygen deprivation and brain damage. The child was later diagnosed with cerebral palsy.

Our team consisted of Managing Partners Mike Bonamarte, Margaret Battersby Black, partners Dov Apfel, Seth Cardeli, and associate Jenna Ewing.

This young girl, whose life was forever changed by a birth injury, now has the security and support she needs for a brighter future. This case was truly transformative for the child and her family. Through this settlement, this young girl will get the treatment she needs and embrace a future filled with hope and healing.

After a three-week trial, and one day before closing arguments were set to begin, Levin & Perconti secured a $29 million settlement for the family of an 11-year-old girl for injuries suffered during childbirth.

The mother, who was 28 weeks pregnant at the time, was admitted to the hospital after her water broke prematurely. Medical providers suspected a placental abruption but delayed delivering the baby by immediate c-section, resulting in oxygen deprivation and, ultimately, brain damage and cerebral palsy.

"We presented a very strong case that the severe birth injury never would have happened if the medical staff had performed a c-section in a timely manner and not ignored obvious signs of distress, said Levin & Perconti managing partner Margaret Battersby Black. "While we are pleased with the settlement, the 11-year-girl and her family will still have to live with the consequences of this negligence for the rest of their lives."

The trial team included managing partners Michael Bonamarte and Margaret Battersby Black, partners Seth Cardeli, Dov Apfel, Dan Broderick Jr., and associate Isabela Bacidore.
