The Sankofa Kode Initiative is offering an online Intro Web Development Training consisting of in depth instruction on basic computing and web development technologies HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript.

At the end of the training, you will be able to build a responsive, mobile ready, HTML5 application using front end development tools such as H5BP and Bootstrap.

For the duration of this course, you will be placed in study teams. We have found that when students learn things together and are interacting with each other over the course material they retain more material, learn more beyond the material, and are more eager to apply the skills learned immediately afterwards.

Although this is an introductory course, it is will prepare you for further full stack JavaScript development. That means everything we do will be based on, and within, the JavaScript ecosystem. No Ruby/Rails, no Python/Django, no Java/whatever, no php/Symfony, etc.

JavaScript is THE language of the web and this course will reflect that accordingly. Our target is to prepare you for future course on NodeJS, mapping, and data science.

This is going to be an Afrikan centered application of technology education.

We are launching our long planned Sankofa Kode Initiative later this month.

We will be offering an online Intro Web Development Training consisting of in depth instruction on basic computing, web technology, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/jQuery, and server side technologies.

At the end of the training, you will be able to build a responsive, mobile ready, HTML5 application using front end development tools such as H5BP and Bootstrap.

This course will be a buddy course meaning you need at least one partner to attend the course with you. If three students want to take it together, that is fine. The minimum is two. We have found that when students learn things together and are interacting with each other over the course material they retain more material, learn more beyond the material, and are more eager to apply the skills learned immediately afterwards.

Although this is an intro course, it is still within the context of fullstack JavaScript development. That means everything we do will be based on, and within, the JavaScript ecosystem. No Ruby/Rails, no Python/Django, no Java/whatever, no php/Symfony, etc.
