Southern Linc is a wireless communications network backed by the strength and reliability of Southern Company - the parent company of three electric utilities in the Southeast: Alabama Power, Georgia Power and Mississippi Power, which are also Southern Linc customers. In addition, Southern Linc provides reliable wireless communications service, including mobile phones, to a wide range of businesses and public sector agencies within our 127,000 square-mile coverage area that includes Alabama, Georgia, southeastern Mississippi, and the Florida Panhandle. For more than 20 years, Southern Linc has been the wireless network provider built from the ground up for utilities, government and business. That same dedication provides the cornerstone for our CriticalLinc 4G LTE Advanced wireless network. Designed specifically to meet the growing mission-critical needs of our largest customers, Southern Company’s electric utilities, CriticalLinc LTE offers that same level of security and reliability for every customer. The CriticalLinc 4G Advanced LTE network provides over-the-air encryption from devices to our towers and supports encryption from towers to the network’s core data centers. This level of network security is not commonly offered by wireless carriers. Combine this security with the expertise of our LTE network management team and the result is a highly reliable suite of LTE services that will support your essential business processes.

Four years in, and story time never gets old! Charlene Ruple, our Pricing and Product Manager, visited Big Blue Marble Academy to read to two pre-k classes during Georgia Pre-K Week. Charlene is one of many Georgia Power Citizen volunteers who spent time reading in classrooms in partnership with DECAL and Voices for Georgia’s Children. Each student and teacher will receive their own copy of Georgia Power’s signature Pre-K book Look Now, Wonder Wow!

We had a great time connecting with law enforcement leaders in Savannah! Market Coordinator Arica Screws represented Southern Linc at the recent Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police (GACP) Fall Training Conference, alongside Market Sales Executives Kregg Richardson and Tracy Edenfield. The team spent time talking with customers about how we can continue to support the agencies that keep our communities safe.

We took learning into the field at our recent Technology Fair in Macon, Georgia! Alongside Alan McIntyre, Vice President of Engineering & Operations, and team members Joe Gant, William Nash and Ritesh Desai, participants toured a cell site, explored our fleet of mobile networking assets, saw a Catalyst Dispatch Console in action and learned how solar energy battery storage can support the grid. Thanks to everyone who joined us for an afternoon of hands-on learning.

When a rapid-moving wildfire broke out on Highway 82 in Brantley County, the Georgia Forestry Commission had no direct line of communication with the Brantley County’s Incident Command. Charlton County Emergency Management Agency Director Tiffany Yearwood quickly closed that gap, providing a Southern Linc radio she received through the Region M Healthcare Coalition to the Incident Command team. The radio let the Georgia Forestry Commission and the Command stay in sync, working together to contain the fire and protect the community.

Charlene Ruple, Southern Linc's Pricing and Product Manager, joined members of the Carrollton Citizens of Georgia Power chapter to shop at Aldi in Carrollton. Every bag they carried in went straight to stocking the shelves at Mt. Zion Food Bank. This is the kind of help that keeps a community fed.
