GIS WebTech

GIS WebTech GIS WebTech helps clients make the shortlist in economic development.

We do this by delivering the best user experience, the best data, and the best analytics from the most advanced technology available for economic development and site selection. GIS WebTech develops interactive, GIS-based web mapping applications and data plugins that are engineered for marketing, research and recruitment in the economic development, commercial real estate and tourism industries.

Our most popular, cloud-based mapping solutions, Grow and Recruit, present broad sets of accurate and tested demographic data from Esri, the global leader in GIS and data research solutions. These web apps typically function within an organization's website, via login portals and/or through other interactive mapping presentations for industry specific recruitment around the world. GIS WebTech is supported by economic development consultants and talented software architects, data partners, and through our partnerships with government agencies, state / local GIS departments, and other recognized institutes of technology and research that we collaborate with to engineer and improve customized web mapping applications and software that truly serves the greater good for communities, cities, states and regions requiring automated demographic research tools that streamline workflows and enhance collaboration amongst their economic development organizations, small businesses and the public at large. Our partnership with Esri, an international supplier of Geographic Information System (GIS) mapping and geo-database management applications, has been an essential ingredient in GIS WebTech's ability to develop innovative, cloud-based solutions that feature a broad spectrum of data search, map generation and GIS file sharing capabilities. We are proud to feature Esri's suite of cloud-based products throughout our custom web applications and other projects. Internally, GIS WebTech also leverages Esri for our own sales and marketing research, along with day to day development and collaborative efforts by our development team with Esri's new ArcGIS Online. GIS WebTech was recently nominated for Esri's 'Best New Partner' award, and we look forward to continuing our marketing and development efforts with their talented teams.

What Makes a Property Capture Attention?

To find out, GIS WebTech analyzed more than 34,000 interactions with properties published on hundreds of economic development websites across the United States and Canada during the first half of 2026.

Seven factors had a statistically significant relationship with property engagement. But the biggest takeaway was not about acreage, building size, or proximity to an airport.

Three of the strongest factors were related to how a property was presented, meaning they were within the economic development organization’s control.

Over the next several weeks, we’ll share what the data revealed and how EDOs can use these findings to make their property marketing more effective.
