What an incredible time for team Alora at the Ohio Council for Home Care and Hospice 2026 annual conference!

Huge thanks to Jen and Drew and the entire OCHCH team for putting together such a fantastic event. From the sessions to the conversations in the hallways, to the opportunity to dine and share time with some of our valued and long-tenured customers, it was energizing to reconnect with so many partners, thought-leaders, and friends in the home care community.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, said hello, shared feedback, and made this year’s conference truly sensational. We’re grateful for this community and everything you do every day for patients and families across Ohio.

We’ll see you next year! 👋

For a lot of agencies, it's sitting in claims nobody had time to chase down before they aged out, not lost, just abandoned.

Real insights, real articles, from real experts.

As part of our commitment to expanding thought leadership in home health care and hospice, our "Thrive in home health care" blog was built on one idea...

Bring together the most passionate and experienced home health and hospice experts, and ask them, "What matters to agencies and the people who work in them?"

That's how Thrive was born...out of a desire to cut through the AI and cookie cutter noise, to provide articles, blogs, white papers and e-books that help agencies THRIVE. Spotlighting our stellar contributors, today we feature content by 25+ year industry vet and former agency owner, Michael Mussman.

From starting a home health agency from scratch, to advising on caregiver retention, to building strong referrals and agency culture, Michael's pieces speak directly "From the agency owner's desk."

Check out some of Michael's blogs below:

🕐 Session two of the Alora x ACHC CoP 3-part series is coming up on October 21st: Quality, Safety & Service Delivery.

QAPI and infection control are some of the areas surveyors scrutinize hardest, and a program that looks solid on paper doesn't always hold up without documented data behind it.

🗓️ Join Terence Fines and Becky Tolson on Oct 21 at 1p ET as they break down exactly what Section 484.65-484.80 requires, from performance improvement projects to aide competency evaluations, so you walk away knowing what to have ready before your next survey.

Here's a stat that should get every home health agency's attention: CMS found that insufficient documentation accounts for over half of all improper home health payments...not fraud, just records that don't fully support the care that was given.

As fraud enforcement ramps up, the question reviewers ask isn't "was this documented?" It's "does this documentation support what we're being asked to pay for?"

This doesn't mean more paperwork. It means better alignment, making sure your notes, OASIS, plan of care, and billing all tell the same clear story. We dig into what's driving this shift and what agencies can do now in our latest blog.
https://www.alorahealth.com/blog-why-fraud-crackdowns-are-changing-documentation-expectations-in-home-health/

CMS reports $1.1B in improper home health payments, mostly from documentation gaps. See what fraud crackdowns mean for your agency's records.
