Phishing emails are designed to get you to act before you think. An urgent request. An unexpected attachment. A link asking you to log in. A message that appears to come from someone you trust.

Before clicking, take a moment to ask: Was I expecting this? Does anything seem off? Can I verify the request another way?

That extra moment can make all the difference.

A strong password is important. A strong password plus another layer of verification is even better.

Multi-factor authentication (MFA) can help protect an account even when a password has been compromised. It’s particularly important for email, financial systems, remote access, and other accounts containing sensitive information.

Whenever MFA is available, use it.

Cybersecurity Awareness Month Tip #1: Stop reusing passwords.

We get it. Remembering dozens of different passwords isn't exactly anyone's idea of fun. But using the same password across multiple accounts means one compromised password can give an attacker access to much more.

Use strong, unique passwords for every account, and use a password manager to help keep track of them securely.

It’s a relatively simple habit that can prevent a much bigger problem.

After more than 20 years helping shape our systems, culture, and client experience, Stuart Rose has been named President of Network 1. Founder David Gracey is moving into the CEO role, where he’ll continue focusing on our vision, strategy, culture, and long-term growth.

Stuart joined Network 1 in 2002 as our fourth employee, so while the titles are changing, this is a leadership relationship that has been built over decades.
