Meet Tom Godfrey family, wedding, headshot, and editorial photographer based in Worcester, MA.
Tom shoots high-volume sessions where thousands of frames come back in focus. His words: “more photos tend to be in focus… it takes me a really long time.”
Two things changed his workflow with FilterPixel:
✦ Grouping similar shots so he can focus on the story, not the duplicates
✦ Colour labels that carry straight into Lightroom — no extra organising

Real photographers. Real galleries. Real time saved.

What surprised me about wasn’t that it picks the good shots, it’s that it knows I’m shooting basketball. Sport-specific judgment, not generic “blurry/sharp.” The reasoning tells me why each photo got the score it did. That’s the part most culling tools miss.

The difference between a sports videographer and a sports photographer is half a second.
In video, you follow the player. If something great happens, you have it. If not, no big deal.
In photos? If you start shooting when the action happens, you’re already late. Best case you get the facial reaction. You missed the actual moment.
You have to anticipate half a second before it happens. Which means the camera isn’t the skill — reading the game is.

I’d never culled a photo in my life. Then I shot 1,400 frames at a basketball game. What surprised me about wasn’t that it picks the good shots, it’s that it knows I’m shooting basketball. Sport-specific judgment, not generic “blurry/sharp.” The reasoning tells me why each photo got the score it did. That’s the part most culling tools miss.

I invited Jah Prince to Cull Room, and one part of our conversation really stayed with me.

He shared how he took nearly 40 shots of this bun and cheese because it happened to be Easter, different angles, different settings, a little higher, catching the light differently each time.

And then FilterPixel narrowed it down to the best one.
What made me smile was that the client loved the same photo too.

Even though the AI score was around 6.7, it was still highly rated and already picked by FilterPixel as the strongest image from the set.

That’s the kind of moment FilterPixel is build for.

Picking the hero shot from a burst is handsdown the toughest job. This is the part of DeepCull I keep coming back to. It scores each frame on focus, sharpness, expression, and emotion, and shows you the reasoning. Try it on your next gallery. Link is in bio.
