💡 What if ONE activity could change the way a child sees STEM—and what they believe is possible for themselves?

That “I don’t get it” could become “Let me try.”
That “This isn’t for me” could become “I can do this!”

That possibility is at the heart of what Dr. Valerie Bennett is building with STEM G.E.N.I.U.S. Universe. Explore how activities on her online learning platform can help spark curiosity, encourage discovery, and give children a reason to keep trying. 🚀

Parents, educators, and school leaders—come discover what’s possible on November 7!

📍 MODEX | 3005 Peachtree Road, Atlanta

How can we use AI to help students think more deeply, work through challenges, and grow as learners? That question continues to drive my research. 💡

I had the opportunity to present my research on cognitive struggle at AWS Machine Learning University, held at Howard University. I shared my work exploring how AWS computing tools can support the development of my own AI platform to study how students learn best with AI.

As a STEM educator and researcher, I’m interested in what happens during the learning process the questions, the uncertainty, and those breakthrough moments when understanding finally clicks.

My goal is to help build learning experiences that encourage students to think, explore, and develop confidence in their abilities. I’m excited to keep asking questions and building toward that vision!

Looking through these pictures from yesterday’s The ABCs of AI book launch, I’m smiling all over again! 💛📚

To our “little littles” and “big littles” what Dr. Natoshia and I affectionately call our children and adults thank you for bringing your curiosity, joy, and love into the room. We appreciate every one of you!

To our family, friends, parents, educators, and special guests: thank you for showing up, purchasing books, sharing encouraging words, and celebrating this moment with us. Seeing you there meant so much.

And to our wonderful volunteers, THANK YOU! Your time, care, and helping hands made this day possible. We are so grateful for everything you did.

Thank you again to Akoma Coffee & Books for welcoming us, and to my co-author, Dr. Natoshia Anderson , for sharing this journey with me.

These photos capture a community coming together to support our children’s learning and possibilities. Thank you for being part of that story. 💛

My heart is full! 💛💯

Thank you to everyone who joined us today for the ABCs of AI book launch. Seeing children, parents, educators, family, and friends come together to celebrate this book meant so much to me. Your presence, encouragement, and support made this day one I will always treasure.

To my co-author, Dr. Natoshia Anderson —thank you for sharing this vision and bringing your heart and expertise to every page. I am grateful for what we have created together and excited about the young minds it will inspire.

A heartfelt thank-you to Akoma Coffee & Books for welcoming us into your store, and to all our special guests including Dr. Talitha Washington for helping make this celebration so meaningful.

As an educator, I believe children deserve opportunities to ask questions, explore new ideas, and see themselves as creators. My hope is that The ABCs of AI sparks those conversations and reminds every child that their curiosity matters.

Thank you for celebrating with us and believing in this work. This is only the beginning!

📖 The ABCs of AI is available everywhere books are sold, including Amazon, Walmart, and Barnes & Noble. Bring home a copy and explore the possibilities with a young learner in your life!
