Rebooting your phone helps disrupt many types of hacking tools, especially those that rely on staying active in memory. Advanced threats—like zero-click exploits used in attacks such as the Pegasus spyware—often don’t survive a restart because they depend on temporary processes rather than permanent installation. While rebooting doesn’t remove all threats, doing it regularly can break ongoing access, clear malicious sessions, and reduce the window an attacker has to stay connected to your device.

REBOOT your phone at the very least once a week. IMO

In November 2023, a Chinese state-linked cyber group known as Volt Typhoon was reported to have infiltrated multiple U.S. critical infrastructure networks, including water utilities. One example that made headlines involved a water system intrusion discovered in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania in late November 2023. Federal agencies later said similar access attempts were seen across other infrastructure sectors.

There’s no reason for panic, but incidents like this are a reminder that many essential systems are connected to networks and can be vulnerable to cyber attacks.
