We're featured in Defense Advancement this month, discussing why modern defense and high risk operations need more than GNSS alone.

As jamming and spoofing threats continue to affect maritime, aviation and defense environments, resilient positioning is becoming a core operational requirement, and not just a fallback.

The article explores how Assured PNT (A-PNT) can help reduce reliance on a single navigation source, using independent positioning, authenticated signals, trusted timing and integration flexibility to support continuity when GNSS is disrupted or cannot be trusted.

Ice road construction in Alaska is a race against the season. Start too early, and operators risk damaging the tundra. Start too late, and they lose valuable days in an already short winter window.

On Alaska’s North Slope, beadedstream's Ice Road Monitoring Stations help operators make that call using real time subsurface temperature data from remote field sites.

Ground Control supports the satellite connectivity layer, helping move that data from the tundra back to the teams who need it.

The impact is better visibility, fewer manual site checks, more confident planning, and in some cases, access to the tundra up to 1 to 1.5 months earlier than general opening dates.

Oli Potter and Drew Jackson are in Athens this week for Posidonia Events, joining our valued partner MarinePlus on their booth.

They’re showcasing RockFLEET Assured, our resilient PNT solution for maritime operators looking to maintain trusted positioning when GNSS/GPS is unreliable, jammed or spoofed.

If you’re at the event, come and say hello - Oli and Drew would be happy to talk through how RockFLEET Assured can support safer, more resilient operations at sea.

In remote IoT, there’s often a design choice: connect sensors individually, or aggregate data locally through a gateway?

Aggregation can make sense for clustered deployments. Direct connections are more useful when assets are dispersed, mobile, or fewer in number.

But as lower cost satellite IoT and NTN mature, that tipping point starts to move. More assets may be able to justify their own direct connection, making it easier to deploy across sites without relying on local infrastructure.

Our COO Oli Potter explains more in this clip from our recent satellite LPWAN webinar.

Remote water monitoring is only as strong as the connection behind it.

As water companies face growing pressure to evidence performance, respond faster to incidents and protect hard to reach assets, the quality of field data matters more than ever.

But in remote locations, getting the reading is only half the challenge. The data also needs to arrive reliably, with the timing and context needed to support real decisions.

That's where satellite IoT has a valuable role to play. By keeping critical messages moving beyond terrestrial network coverage, satellite connectivity can help water operators improve visibility across reservoirs, rivers, treatment sites and other remote infrastructure.

Our article on satellite IoT and remote water system monitoring appears in the latest print edition of Water Magazine: https://online.flippingbook.com/shelf/840208/261190/30/

Drones are being asked to fly further, stay connected for longer, and operate in places where cellular coverage simply cannot be relied on.

That’s where satellite connectivity comes in.

At Ground Control, our UAV solutions support everything from lightweight message-based control and telemetry to real time BVLOS command and control, payload data, remote fleet management, and resilient failover communications.

Whether you’re building a prototype, integrating satcom into an airframe, or scaling a fleet, we can help you choose the right connectivity profile for your mission.

Your drone. Anywhere on Earth.

It's hard to monitor remote water sites if the network drops out at the worst moment.

That's where satellite IoT can help, keeping data moving from places cellular coverage doesn't reliably reach.

In Environment Journal, our CEO Alastair MacLeod looks at how satellite IoT can support more resilient remote water monitoring, particularly in locations where coverage has traditionally been a barrier.

Read the article here: https://environmentjournal.online/headlines/how-satellite-iot-can-enhance-remote-water-system-monitoring/

How data is monitored is changing across the water sector. It is no longer something that is merely collected for compliance and reviewed periodically. It is being examined more closely, and more often, by a wider set of stakeholders. Regulators are asking more of it, the public is seeing more of....

Remote IoT projects often look great in a pilot... And then reality kicks in: airtime costs climb, battery life falls short, and supporting devices in the field becomes harder than expected.

Our new eBook looks at how to avoid those problems before they become expensive, covering:

• When to aggregate sensors through a gateway vs. connect each asset directly
• Why direct-to-satellite connectivity deserves a fresh look
• How your data model affects both cost and battery life
• Why "sleep first" device behavior matters in remote deployments
• What engineers and systems integrators should consider before scaling.

How do you scale remote IoT without driving up airtime costs or draining batteries? Explore the design decisions that matter most.
