If your paid ads aren't performing like they used to, you might be facing one of these three common issues:
1. High CPC
Rising costs often mean your targeting and creative have gone stale. Refresh both more frequently to keep your ads relevant (and your costs down). This could be as simple as exporting a fresh leads list from your CRM to use as a look-alike audience, evaluating top-performing locations and removing those with no engagement, switching up your CTA (call-to-action) text and/or color, or swapping out images.
2. Attribution gaps
If you can't trust your data, you can't trust your decisions. Clean, accurate attribution is the foundation of every smart ad spend decision. Tracking engagement, from ad click to page visit, and from form submission to email engagement, can help paint a more complete picture of what’s causing a lift (or lag) in performance.
3. Conversion rate volatility
Inconsistent results may point to unproven funnel assets. This is where A/B tests come in handy. From ad copy and headlines to landing pages and CTAs, running an A/B test can help you see what's actually working. You might even get a few new ideas to run with.
The fix isn't always more budget and increased ad spend. It's often a stronger strategy behind the budget you already have.
