A small portrait painted on an unusually cut wood panel needed both a technical and well designed visual treatment. Solution: stacked textures and surfaces. The custom milled inner frame is linen covered and the deep rabbet seamlessly covers the uneven edges of the painting. The outer frame is both modern and rustic.

We recently had the pleasure and challenge (and we like challenges) of framing a series of Damien Hirst’s acrylic face mounted Heni butterfly prints. The framing had to live up to the style and reputation of the artist, as well as the contemporary setting they were going to be placed in. We engineered a minimalist wooden riser to perfectly align with the art’s rear bracing system and structure of the neon acrylic floater frames we designed. Each neon color was chosen to complement each artwork. The result is a cheerfully sophisticated installation that can be mounted anywhere and grab attention!
